My MT image works did the paint mask(stencil) for the tuning forks I masked the speed blocks myself you just need patience and lots of it :Dnewpasintmt-o3007.jpg

  2. anyone here in uk make decals, or know what you need in respect of art work so i can get some made up?

    vector graphics?

'The Image Works' in Derbyshire, they will do stencils too so you can paint on your graphics give there website a try www.the-image-works.co.uk

you could also take a look at these guys www.01racefx.com for something a little different

    Yes it does go well.

My TRX is at a similar stage at the mo was only supposed to be getting a bit of winter tlc but is now in a million pieces it will be better than new when finished and should be ready for summer....if I get cracking.

  4. Lovin it B)B)B) but then I would say that :icon_wink:dtintherain2010may.jpg

I've had a new seat foam and cover since this picci was taken so it don't look quite so squashed(the original was full of Michigan mouse home!!)

    how it looked before 1.jpg

all good fun don't ya think?

  5. I'm willing to give them a try. Any of the lads from the squires run will attest to the original condition of my tdr, everything is original down to the mirrors :D . Paint match, date codes on the parts match, everything ties up. The decals even have that slight patina from being 23 years old. I just can't affect the visible part of the tank paintwork becaust it just will not be possible to match it properly especially as the stock paint isnt a flat black it has a tiny fleck to it.

I don't know if its just a one off pin hole or there are hundreds of them waiting, that would mean stripping it, that means the paint is a gonner and the decals have been out of production for years. You can see people trying to copy em still on the TDR site. They look OK in isolation but they are too yellow compared to the originals and don't have a border.

    Gutted :(

These sealants are my only real option.

cautionary note to keep in mind! tank sealnts when they react to our fuel are a mega nightmare to remove

  6. I want to fit some pazzo levers to my MT-03! the brake lever is the same as other models so is not a problem but as yet they don't make a clutch lever to fit, I'm thinking that a cluth lever assembly off another model will fit and work with the relevent lever, has anyone done this??:question:

  7. CAN any body out there do it for me??

    vin no 2k4061485-

I didn't get a V5 with my TZR when I applied for a new one DVLA didn't have any records of the engine or frame numbers(bodged) went through the registration process and an inspection and they still could't come up with antyhing Yamaha didn't recognise the so called frame number either so in the end I bought another frame with V5 and didn't have any more problems :)

  8. where do you find vintage parts for a dt2?

I didn't struggle finding any parts for my dt1 just about everything available in America. I could't have done it without the internet though.Get yourself a parts book and google the part number you should find what you need.

check out Usa ebay loads of parts there, NW vintage cycle parts are very good, Speed and Sport were also good but a bit expensive. Get searching the net and good luck don't give up :):)

  9. yeah my bike was in classic bike think it was july or august issue. I dream about XT500's the only thing that stops me from getting one is I would struggle with the starting (or so I've been told) I get annoyed if I can't start the 500, suppose my MT is a bit like a modern day xt. Keep thinking about ditching the flatracker project(it has been ongoing for 4 or more years) for a dt400 but I can't bring myself to part with it :D:D

  10. Ha Ha , another enduro nut, im sure if you could get a letter from Yamaha UK declaring the date of manufacture you should be able to registered with an age related one. I in the middle of a resto on my 1971 DT1 which will need registering as its US import, shouldnt be a problem for you as its a UK bike.

That many bikes tother sites that can be helpful.

    Cheers Tommy10bikes
