  1. Going to try a swap with my RD125LC tomorrow. Duh, didn't think of that. Cheers.
  2. Brilliant, just the job! Many thanks.
  3. Hello Folks, I was wondering if someone could help me with an electrical issue on my Yamaha EW50 Slider moped? When the Slider is cold and I turn on the ignition I have a working horn, indicators and brake light. When I start the ped I lose all of those and the headlight is very dim. I've tested the battery with a multi-meter and it's showing 13v with the engine off, but I'm not getting any voltage rise with the engine running. I'm guessing the problem could be one of four things: 1) A dodgy stator. 2) Bad earth (I can only find two - one on the starter and one on the coil and they both look fine). 3) Regulator/rectifier (gets very hot, very quickly) 4) Shagged battery. Has anyone had a problem like this before, or has anyone got any idea what the problem could be? Many thanks, Jason
  4. I had a similar problem with my EW50 Slider - the air box had come loose from the carb and she was getting too much air. Try reving her up while someone holds the air box tight against the carb. Also, (and on the other side of the coin) is the air filter nice and clean? She might not be getting enough air. Good luck Jason

  6. Cheers Drewpy, Spot on! I rang Yamaha today, and they said exactly the same - get someone to hold on the back brake and wang it right up! Thanks again, Jason
  7. Hello good people, I had to take the rear wheel off of my EW50 Slider scooter due to a puncture, but for the life of me I can't find the wheel nut torque setting anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what the setting should be, or know of a website that might have the information? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Jason
  8. HI all, I'm restoring an old RD ('87) but bits are very hard to come by. I'm wondering if parts from any other old Yam's - DT's, TY's, TZR's etc - would be interchangeable? I'm short of bits like a wiring loom, rear shock, YPVS unit etc and I can't find anything specific to this bike. I was wondering if any of you would have advice on where to start looking? Many thanks, Jason
