  1. I ride an 02 plate R6 and no steering damper fitted and none will be fitted .I suppose you get used to what your riding (or who lmao ) .I was used to YPVSs before the R6 and it's certainly fun fun fun all the way to ride .The good weather is coming ,get them bikes ready :D

  2. Hi

I know you've already got it booked in but i put some conti attacks on my R6 last week and they're brilliant. Must prefer them to the standard dunlops!!

Hi mate ,well there on the bike so time will tell .That many brands around these days it's hard to choose .

Cheers all for your thoughts and input .

  3. I use the Bridgstone 021s on the Fazer 1000 and have found them a good tyre in the wet and the dry, tyre life is OK at about 6000 miles for the rear and 8000 for the front, bout the only downside is that they seem to square off if you do a lot of motorway miles, more so than the old BT020s, i think I will be trying the Dunlop Road Smart next, these seem to have had a good wright up in the M/C press.

Bridgstones recomended fitment for the 2005/06/07 R6 are,,, BT014s,,, BT016,,,BT021s and BT002s (street racing) if you have the pre 05,then they dont recomend the BT002 and if you have the 08 model then the only fitment is the BT016 or BT016F

Cheers for the comments Steve .It's an 02 R6 and it's going in tomorrow morning for the 021 tyres .Just hope the weather is better than today ,pissing rain up here all night .

  4. Hi matey ran my R6 on bridgstones and virtually every other bike i've owned has had em on also....fantastic tyres good in the wet with excellent levels of grip and good feedback when going a bit quicker but superb in the dry. I run my 1000 exup on bridgstones ....i cant find fault with em other than the softer compounds wear a bit quicker

    Hi guys

Thanks for the feedback .Just booked the bike in for the tyres .I don't do a big millage on my bike so wear is not really a concern .The garage informed me that it's now 021 tyres as the 020 has been superceded .I think the deal i'm getting is reasonable as it's a ride in and ride out price .Now can we have more weather like the weekend ,cracking days up here .

  5. the numbers on the bridgestones are just the model number, if you look through the bridgestone selection, there's a ton of different tread patterns and compounds etc

i was going to use BT090's on my supermoto, but apparently they suit a more sporty bike than something with such a high centre of gravity.

'It's in the blood' . . . just a quick note, i'm not sure how soft the BT-002's are, but they're meant to stick like shit to bunny fur.

    Tom

Cheers Tom ,they sound just the job .Only way to know I suppose is too try them ,time to book in bike ,ouch :o .

    Cheers

  6. bridgestones are, and i quote an ex work mate here, DE BOMB! he used to use theBT-002's on his lucky strike Gixxer 600.

apparently they give very god feedback on the road and are good in all weather.

Hope this helps, sorry it's not personal experience, but it's a review none the less :)

    Tom

    Hi Tom

Cheers for the input .1st time getting tyres for it hence the question .If they are good enough on your mates 600 I'm sure they will be ok on my R6 .

    Cheers

    Paul

  7. Hi all .

Just been to the local garage and they have recomended bridgestone BT-002 tires for my R6 .Just wondered if anyone is using them and what do you think if so .

    Cheers

  8. That sure is interesting. I wonder if they use one or two handed signing? Wow.

Glad he was okay, too. Wonder if he changed where he stunts now..

Sure looked a sore one ,shame the bike got it .My last wheelie was in my early 20s ,scored a purfect 10,10,10 ,ok according to the cops in court I did lmao .It was that good they even let me give them money for watching and in return they gave me points .Lovely bunch of assholes in the Northern constabulary ,eat donuts and catch bikers ,what a life they lead wankers.

  9. Good luck mate .Never owned a cz but once upon a time I owned a mz125 lol and even passed my test on it .I think it was 4 gears ,oil in with petrol and the kickstart was on the bloody left .Only thing it hated was the wet as the spark plug would short on the housing and stall at junctions .

This is similar to the one I owned and though (back then ) it was great ,hell it went and anythings better than walking or the bus .

Yamaha rider for a few years now

  10. Hi Batifan

Yamaha UK phoned me today and the fleece that I originally wanted is on back order and there expecting them at the end of Feb .Oh well will her indoors let me have two  .

Again thanks for all your replies

  11. Have you turned Scottish overnight?

Only most of your posts lately have a distinct Scots accent......................

Hi all ,Yes I've asked Yam uk and no luck, but thanks anyway ,As for me ,I'm very Scottish ,I live hmmm 4 miles from Nessie with lovely roads for a bike in summer .

    Any other ideas folks .

  12. Hi Slippery

That would be good .It's a sad day in the UK when you can't get a jacket to fit lol ,i'm only a wee guy ,good thing I sold my 350YPVS a couple of years back or the suspension might not have lasted these days .

    Cheers

    Paul

  13. Ebay?

    Hi Goff

Thanks for that ,they do have the fleece on ebay but not in my size ,the problem is that thay made the clothing small ,xxl would normally fit me but it's xxxxl in there range .Oh well I can but hope .

    Thanks again

  14. Hi guys and girls .Anyone know where I can buy a Yamaha 2008 polar fleece jacket in blue/white in a XXXXL size .Tried a few dealers and there out of stock .Just of the phone to one dealer and they reckon that there now discontinued  .The wife wants to buy me one :D as It'll match my lovely R6 when the weather improves .

    All the best for 2009

  15. Returning after a few years away I must admit ,I'm catious of the clown ahead in the volvo .Always have been since 20yrs ago getting multiple broken bones in a van ,yip passanger in a van versus tractor ,cow shager came of the best .These days can't afford to break anymore so I'm the biker watching way up the road .

At the end of the day if it happens it happens ,can't live in a blanket all your life ,crash on bike ,drown in bath after two many bottles lol or drop dead with a heart attack ,only one there you might avoid is the bath

Ah well happy safe riding to all old and new.

But unlucky for me im 18 so its more like £1600! Any of you ride round London?

The secret in owning an R6 is to live in Scotland :D .I've recentely bought a 2002 R6 and I managed just to grab 2 years ncb through carol nash insurance .Last ride was a RD350 ypvs over 2 years ago .The deal Nash gave was £186 Fully comp with breakdown cover :D .Yip insurance is cheap in the wilds up here .Oh and i'm 40 .Then again no matter what we do insurance companies always take the urine and screw us,has been that way for years .Regardless of what you go for i'm sure you'll have plenty of happy miles ahead .

    Happy biking mate .
