  1. SO SORRY FOR LATENESS OF REPLY I JUST USED GOOGLE AND TYED IN RATIORITE AND THE CONVERSION CHART IS FREE TO USE.
  2. i cat say for sure but in uk the wr and the yz are very similar bar lights and engine specs and i assume that many parts would be interchangable if you look on the web for images of both bikes to compare body parts etc they are very similar in appearance just ones more road biased and ones offroad its a pity you dont know someone with a yz ?as you could test fit the fender form a yz to your bike.
  3. if in any doubt about the correct amount of fuel to oil there is a handy online free conversion chart just type in ratio rite and all your amounts for varying oil to gas ratios are on a handy chart.
  4. rest assured that 32/1 is correct i even phoned a local motocross shop and they confirmed this as did an online motocross part specialist, unless you are breaking in a new piston or similar(even then its up for debate sometimes) you are better off using too much oil than not enough, ive been using 32/1 in my sons dtr and my own yz250 (similar to your engine) and never had a problem uk metric roughly 5litres petrol to 155mls two stroke and for peace of mind use semi synthetic silkolene or similar.
  5. im just qouting from the clymer manual but it does not cover the 1999 model only 1990-1994 so sorry cant be of more help.
  6. will check tommorow but going by your cm3 figures its a pre 1991 model as 1991 onwards is 248cm3 nicasil linered luckily your barrel is reborable and not the type that needs expensive reliners/recoating if damaged/worn.
  7. other users are right first check the plug my son has a dtr125 and if the plug gets fouled it wont start, check the condition of the plug is it oily/black best to replace with new one even if it has a spark if you are premixing your oil in your tank you may be out on your ratios 5litres gas uk to 150 mls 2 stroke i.e 32/1, if there is no spark check fuses first then if thats ok get a multimeter check that you get voltage to the coil when kicking bike over if you get voltage going into coil but still no spark the coils gone kaput unusual but does happen recomend getting a workshop manual if you are keeping the bike any length of time.
  8. looks like a really nice clean bike buy yourself a clymer owners manual well worth it i had no clues and unfortunaltely never checked my gearbox oil resulting in main bearings/crank needing rebuild, dont let that worry you bike looks a good un just keep an eye on all fluids etc look after it and you will be well happy and carry a spare plug with you.
  9. i know over in britain that the indicator switch is not the issue for an mot but if there is indicators fitted they must be in working order if thats any use.
  10. buy a good manual i.e clymer my 1991 ratio is 32/1 i.e 5 litres petrol/150 mls 2 stroke use at least semi/synthetic or preferablt fully synthetic, manual will give you good advice on maintenence issues.
  11. i dont know about the states models but over in britain the 1991 models have upside down forks so would need different yokes etc
  12. ive just logged on so if you still have bike ive got a 1991 model the recomended petrol/2 stroke ratio is 32/1 i.e 5litres petrol to 150 mls 2stroke i would personally drain all fluids oil/water/etc and remove the barrel renew piston rings/piston if history unkown maybe a light coat of two stroke on the barrel before reassembly, and take it easy for a hour minimum when riding 2/3 rds throttle and make sure you use semi synthetic 2 stroke oil/fully synthetic too much oil will foul plug every time also dont leave choke on longer than neccesary hope this helps. if your plug fouls up have a look at the needle position in the carb according to clymer manual the further down it is the leaner your mixture will be i think there are 5 positions and it should be in the third or fouth position as standard.
