  1. i cant think of anything sexier than a bloke in race leathers (black though - none of these coloured things), sat astride a rather tasty looking sportsbike........*hubba hubba*

Perhaps if he had a uniform, from which his rippling hulk (mainly six-pack stomach) was bursting out of....

  2. Jim - cheers :D my thinking exactly. in the future my opinions may change, but my focus at the mo is to learn to ride, not to go (really) fast.

Imanupstart - too right it's beautiful. Even more so in the flesh!

  3. Perhaps, but I can't see myself really needing all that much power. I want a bike to be nippy round town and in traffic and capable of getting me up to the speed limit comfortably on a motorway.

  4. Just had to update this as I sat on my first MT-03 today. (sorry Jim, we were supposed to go Sat, but plans changed at last minute when we ended up spending the weekend in Leeds - with 5 nephews *shivers* )

I'm totally in love with this bike and can't wait to pass my test to actually test ride one! Out of the bikes I sat on numerous times today (ER6N, lowered F650, Suzuki Gladius and Honda CB600) the MT-03 is definitely the favourite for my first big bike.

It's a compact and bijou kind of affair where the distance from the seat to handlebars is much shorter than the others meaning my arms don't feel stretched, although that could be due to the seating position which tips you forward a little. 6'3" hubby felt uncomfortable and reckoned he didn't like this position, but little ol' 5'4" me felt like I was sat upright.

Can't wait to try this bike out!

  5. This thread has intrigued me - no I don't watch it but I've youtubed a few clips of her singing and have to agree with you. She's absolutely crap!

Sounds like she's trying to do an impression of Dolores O'Riordan, really really BADLY.

Yikes. I hope she doesn't win, if only for the fact that she'll be bombarding us on every radio/TV show for all of 5 mins if she does.

  6. As my YBR is still within the manufacturer's warranty period, I sent off the change of ownership slip to the address in my owner's manual in September but haven't heard back from them. Do they acknowledge this normally?

Hubby did the same for his baby Varadero and Honda sent him a response and some other stuff within a few weeks.

  7. Hi, Although I've only been riding since August, I've got early Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (trapped nerves in the wrists). I had it very mildly before I started riding, but riding has exacerbated it something shocking and whilst I probably won't have this bike forever, I would like to be a bit more comfortable in the meantime!

So, bearing in mind I know nothing about the technical stuff, can somebody tell me if it's possible to get risers for this bike? If so, what do I need to look for when getting them or is there a particular brand? Is it something I (or the hubby  ) can fit ourselves?

Sorry for the questions and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. PS I have tried the search function!

  8. So I've tried using a Spinexx to carry my gear to work (workclothes etc), but it's fiddly to clip on/off and the opening is a bit too small to use easily (anybody want to buy a Spinexx 3-in-1? ) and I'm tired of riding with a rucksack so I'm looking at 2 other options...

    1. I really like the Oxford Humpback mainly because with the tailpack base there's a permanent base on the bike and in theory it should be quicker/easier to attach to the bike. Looking at it in the shop, it looks a decent size and is expandable too. Question is, would it fit the bike? Looks a little bit big, so I'm hoping that a fellow YBR owner uses this luggage to confirm or deny...

    2. Alternatively, I could buy el cheapo top box off the fleabay. I was thinking a 26L would be big enough to carry a rucksack, but I'm not so sure. I don't plan on keeping the bike any longer than I need to, to pass my test, so it would only be a short term thing (hopefully) whereas the Oxford Humpback would be transferable to the next bike. I'm also not sure on the weight of these, since the cheapo's off ebay don't always list this information and my owner's manual says that I shouldn't really have more than 6kg on the back.

    Any advice gratefully received.

  9. Thanks for the welcome :)

Sorted the gear problem today - hubby adjusted the gear lever for the 2nd time and I had a nice couple of hours out today with virtually no trouble at all.

I like the site, but I'm still getting used to people saying what they think without worrying about cursing or offending someone. It's not the sort of forum I'm used to, but it's refreshing!

  10. Well, under threat of a hiding from Goff (I interpreted ;) ) I'm introducing myself rather late as I've been a member for a wee while.

As my username suggests, I'm from Northern Ireland but I live in Birmingham. I did my CBT on 12th August and picked up my YBR125 5 days later. Nice little bike, but I'm having so much trouble with the gears (ie getting into 2nd  ). Anyway I'm dealing with that atm and trying hard to carry on enjoying learning to ride.

I'm a fat lass called Chris (Chrisi or Christine to my family) married to Chris (honestly) and we've two dogs. Hubby has a baby Varadero atm which I'm hoping to inherit when he does his DAS course as I can't do mine until next year when I actually have some holiday left.

  11. I likes my YBR125, although being a fat arse I'm looking forward to having a bike with a bit more power to it. I posted before about having troubles with the gears, but tbh I took it to the garage today and there's nothing wrong with the gears except the eejit using them

Nice bike, does the job - nippy, easy to ride (I would say "foolproof" but this fool is proof that it isn't). Hubby has a baby Varadero and I'm dying to get my hands on it when he does his DAS, but long term I'm looking for a MT-03 after my own DAS.

  12. Thanks Ryan. I certainly agree that in the looks department (for those that like type of bike) it is the business.

Jim - will let you know. Me and the OH will be riding in - it's a nice route from our house as long as you stay away from the M6!
