  1. I still have a brand new (in box) rear indicator from the FZR.

Anyone interested in swop for whatever???

Must have a poke & see what else I have - this is good idea!

  2. After lookin forward to the NEC show for months, I'm raging. Arrived at airport yesterday -all was fine.

Had the compulsory fry up & pint, then found slight delay on flight.

Boarded plane, waited several hours only to discover that airport was now closed so told to head home.

So disappointed I missed out - but there's always next year I suppose....

  3. I'd like an LC in my garage eventually too - kno where there's a Roberts special edition one sitting that I'm drooling over - but it's not in the same category as the velocette etc

  4. It's an opinion alright - to which ur entitled.

    It's a pile of bollox - how's that for an opinion??? ;)

The velocette is as reliable as most new bikes. Starts second kick all the time.

  5. I'm lucky that my dad has a few so I get to share!

They are great fun, love the noise too from the 1934 velocette!

Grew up around classics like that so got a list of stuff I'd love to own at some point.

  6. Evening all!

Just wondering if anyone is into classic bikes (apart from Yams of course!)

I'm lucky enough to get to ride my dads BSA & Velocettes. It's a really different experience but I love it !!

Currently restoring a Sun, picked up as a sentimental addition to the garage but turns out it's quite rare.

  7. Spotted a bike for sale locally that looked good in the pics & description raised no problems. Seller stated it had been bought as a track bike but had never been used as such.

Was really well priced so I enquired why it wasn't for road use, seller replied saying it was a US import & had never been registered etc.

Surely couldn't be hard to get it registered & through an mot?

Anyone got experience in this area?

  8. Hi folks.

Trying to use the bike daily for as long as possible before conceding defeat for the winter.

Any recommendations for good tyres for this kinda weather? I ride rural / main roads to work.

  9. Well, the twin keeps surprising!

Previous owner had fitted a set of tyres purchased from someone who did track days - so they're basically scuffed slicks.

As you can imagine theyre a real handful in this weather until they get warmed up.

Ended up putting on a hell of a show for some schoolkids today as she spun the rear up & shook like a champ!! lol

  10. oh, im still going around Ireland, just need to find out what day they have their summer

Not official yet but summer will prob be a two hour period from 11.15 am on 6th June next year - normally when I'm in work!! That's why we have to bike in all weathers over here, can't just wait for the sun or we'd never get out!! :)

  11. Oh no you bought one of THOSE.........

Bloke next door had one for 2 years. His only complaint was it drank fuel like mad. 30mpg and less. That may of been him of course.

What are you going to do?, no running repairs, no suspect parts, wont corrode through the winter and comfortable for a sports bike.

    Where's the attraction, :D

LMAO, Can definately agree about the fuel consumption - its a thirsty beast.

However, think part of that is still down to the novelty factor of the noise. Also, theyre really lumpy at low revs so tend to kick down the gears too.

Will ad pics when photobucket finishes its 'maintenance'
