thanks for the help folks, its all greatly appreciated.
i have new plugs sitting waiting to go in, that's my next step.
Have had the carbs apart, cleaned the jets and float bowls.
Flow from tank seems good, as does flow thru in-line fuel filter.
Am still intrugued by the addiotional post though about the clutch, I would check the clutch switch with a multimeterprob silly question, but what reading should i be looking for? electrics aren't my strong point, more used to working on a 1934 Velocette which is a lot more basic!!!

Hi all!
Bike still sitting in bits cos i've been dying with man-flu since my last run out when bike was still misbehaving again.
But been reading lots of other threads, and thought i'd ask the Gurus on here if my problem could be related to the EXUP system?
To be honest, I know very little about EXUP & how it works but thought it was worth asking just incase.
The wife is tryin to get me to sell the Fizer as it sits & buy a Suzuki instead.......

Dude, i'm 6'3 & ride an FZR600 every day, have no probs with being 'huddled up'.
Buy an FZR400 or something for bit of fun, you'll love it.

Heres one for the hardcore among us...
I bought a voltage regulator off fleabay for my FZR, old was is on the fritz.
New one is shown in pic.
but there are a few characters different compared to the original
Old one reads:-

SH569A-12
T4.D 261
Anyone know what the difference is? Will this one work ok or could this be part of the cause of my ongoing problems?
The listing def stated that item was from an early 90's FZR600.

I believe there is no such thing as a typical biker, we're all individual.
I'm 30, been riding bikes since the age of 6, going pillion with my Dad from shortly after.
Though i ride a sports bike everyday, my taste extends into just about every field from custom to vintage.
Other bikes I ride range from a BMW R1100RS to a BSA Bantam D7 or even a 1934 Velocette 250cc!!!
People think old bikes only appeal to old blokes!!

Hi all, I have been doing up a FZR 400 Genesis exup circa 1988 I have had to buy a fuel tap as one was missing but I cant tell which way it should point for reserve, up, left or down!! Any help Cheers John. Must admit I love the little beast...
if its anything like my fzr600, down is ON, left is Off, up is RESERVE.
