    Which R6?

hi mate i just moved out of nw london but still still ride there sometimes where abouts u from? about the r6 im 20 and passed my test earlier this year i bought a 2001 r6 and had it restricted and for all those people who say there slow are talking crap and probably have never been on a restricted r6. anyway there still fast enough to begin with and after u can remove the restrictors and enjoy the beast. my first qoted were expensive but i then got quoted 500 third party fire and theft with carol nash insurance which was a suprise so from then began riding. check out 2001 r6 with custom scorpion pipe on youtube to see me beast all done up now.

    o8 r6

ok well it really depends on how much u wana spend and also are u looking for just a slip on or full system? for good performance a full system and power commander with the right map will give u a great increase in power but for just a sound upgrade a slip on will achieve that but i would definatley recommend u do these things in this order first_ 1. crash mushrooms all round to protect ur baby 2. tail tidy to remove that big ugly thing on the back 3. flush mount indicators 4. full system akcropovic, termogini, yoshimura exhaust as all of these are greatlooks nd performance 5. power commander pc3 with a custom map to the exhaust on a dyno and replace air filter with bmc one 6. do a few track days and enjoy her because if you do all these steps you will have a great performing machine. hope this helped
  5. i would also like to know this as my 2001 r6 is just about to hit 18000 miles is there anything i should be aware of or that should be replaced?
  6. mate if i was u i would wait for the 2009 r6 now as its probably going to be changed totaly to look even better or at least better colour and upgraded a little. the 2008 was changed a little and all the faults with the 2006/07 r6 were rectified with the 2008. i think its going to be worth the wait we will know by september what the new beast looks like. or even have you heard about the new r1 that is going to be as small as the 08 r6 which is also coming out soon.
  7. hi mate where abouts in london you from?

    MY NEW BIKE!!

hey mate iv also got an r6 and im only 20 i also passed my test this year so im restricted for two years too. i just took my bike to a yamaha dealer and they got me the restricters in and fitted them. i loved the power of the bike before but with the restricters in it makes the bike much more controlable and it doesnt really slow it down that much i can still do 120 mph and the acceleration isnt bad but u can forget about wheelies unless ur good with the clutch i cant get mine of the ground anymore. im only paying 500 a year tpft for insurance and im 20 with two years no claims and no convictions.
  11. there are two parts to it but they are both in the carb area one is a stop on the slides so the throttle wont open fully and the other is a plate with a small hole in each inlet after the carbs which restricts the fuel and air to the engine. this is how they restrict the carb model r6 but the fuel injection is a little different.
  12. hey everyone im new to this site, iv had my r6 for about six months now and love riding and keeping her clean. i am only 20 on a restricted lisence so my r6 is restricted but the restricters are not as bad as i first thought. anyways here she is iv done a few mods, puig db screen, pazzo short levers, micron carbon pipe soon to be replaced with custom retro fitted 07 r6 scorpion stubby can, intergrated tail lights and indicators driven grips powers race railz solo seat r&g crash bobbins renthal chain and sprockets [url=http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=204&i=14072008080nt7.jpg]
