its not the one for the EXUP valve , this one primes your throttle bodies but im guessing its gonna be hard to distinguish
its called the 'sub throttle servomotor' and its on the right hand side of the throtle bodies
-
not quite lol more like tilbury in essex, just off the filthy river thames
lol hows it sound with the IXIL
-
hi, you can hear the servo motor turning when the key is turned but the servo wired have been cable tied out the way on my fz1 as it had a full race system fitted.

chatin to someone today he says when you first turn the key you here a servo turning. does it sond normal because it controls the amount of fuel sent to the injectors, he thinks if its got damp\mucky it might cause problem!

nice mate, is that holme upon spaldin moor?
-
hi mate, you had the same problem then, do ya think its a battery problem cos i was thinkin more like re mapping it again , its got a full akraprovik system and power commander and thought the cold weather was making it go funny. shall i put it on a optimate for a while and see how it goes. thanks daz
it worked for me, the only other thing that caused me a worry was it ran a little uneven before i serviced it
last spring . i ran it through winter and you shouldave seen the state of the air filter!! mines an 06 and runs about 1500rpm on choke and around 1100 normal ,weather hasnt seemed to alter it much,im running a pc111 (standard can and velocity stacs from an 06 r1) if any thing it runs crisper when its cold whether

HI FOLKS, COULD ANY ONE HELP ME WITH A PROBLEM I HAVE ON MY FZ1 N, WHEN STARTED FROM COLD IT TICKS OVER AS IT SHOULD ON CHOKE AT AROUND 2 RPM THEN AFTER A COUPLE OF MINS IT REVS TO 3500 RPM AND STAYS THERE, BEFORE I PUT IT AWAY FOR WINTER IN SEPTEMBER I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT AT ALL BUT I START IT UP EVERY 3 WEEKS OR SO AND THATS HOW I NOTICED THE PROBLEM, ITS FITTED WITH A DYNOJET POWER COMANNDER AND FULL AKRAPOVIC SYSTEM AND I WAS TOLD WHEN I BOUGHT IT THAT IT HAD BEEN SET UP/MAPPED . COULD IT BE JUST THE COLD WEATHER OR MAY BE IT NEEDS SETTING UP AGAIN, IS IT POSSIBLE THE CHOKE IS STICKING. ANY IDEAS FOLKS BEFORE I TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERS.
hello there mate, had this problem last year ,after a couple of days got up one morning to find mi alarm goin off so charged mi battery and it went back to runnin normal on choke. hope this helps

as far as i know the 07 fz1 runs a 5vy motor (04-06 r1) with different cams and a hevier crank ive bought an 06 r1 engine and im reserching how to go on. ive been told they have a higher inlet lift but if i run it i will have to switch exhaust cam because the cam sensor lobe is in a different position. this guy was drag racing and had swiched heads he said it made gains too high up the revs for him. you apparantly gain some low end power if you tie back or remoove the butterflies at the top of the throttle bodies. ivans do smaler replacements. i've been looking at replacing electrics with the r1 engine if i can do it but its still giving me a head ache ivans also do a feuel cut off eliminator which gives hp gains accross the range (an electronic thingi) hope this might help

Half way home on a500mile trip p**s wet through gettin over taken by just about every car ,blown from one carridgeway to another and not in the best of humor,a kindly police man pulled me over and told me there was a wagon and a few trees on there side up ahead and i shouldn't be riding .i thanked him and carried on, i got home to find there had been 30mph winds gusting to 70mph .even riding at 30 mph didnt feel safe .you find yourself lookin for every gap in the hedge or buildings and every possible piece of debris dustbin or whatever in front of you . 200% concentration isnt enough to beat mother nature, i tend to check the weather now and avoid the worst .if you are out in it slow down read yer road surface harder than normal and watch for other road users with high sides gettin into s**t near ya!!

well i got bored with the black so changed it like i said and heres the results folks (what you think)?????
comments please
well cool mate ,any other changes planned?

that is my next test to do at the weekend.......... got tot the point don't care what the problem is just what to get the damned thing fixed.....lol
Sometimes if it is the rings you can smell petrol through your oil filler cap!
-
what has been done so far.........
fuel tank cleaned.all fuel filters cleaned..petrol pump check and all ok
run with air box split to view carbs still the same.new airbox rubbers fitted no change
replaced carbs with a good set off a running bike.my old ones are on my mates and are fine. still no change
checked that manifold rubber are ok.......... they hold a good vacuum on inlet no air leakage
check thro' electrical system coils generator.. all to spec....new plugs and plug caps fitted
new regulator fitted new battery fitted
remove thermostat to check to see if it opens at correct temp
run engine from cold and revs freely till the temp gets up
remove air box when fault occurs.revs freely when no load
road test with airbox of struggles to get above 5k.but i'm guessing thats a mixture prob with no airbox on
so can you think of anything else i've missed
Have you tried a commpression test (warm and cold) ive come across bikes with dodgy rings showing similar symptoms!

125 seems like a good guess. 250 at most.
Fairings don't look like any Yamahas I remember seeing here in the US.
Looks similar to an old rd80 lc i used to have , i spent hours dooin it up in the then popular wrangler coulors but thats some dedication to spend 70-80 hrs polishing the engine! i'm well impressed mate

NICE ONE MATE YOU MUST HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT!!

Out in the snow earlier this year . normally i would wash down the bike and relube the chain. i was going away for a week, rushing about forgot to relube chain . came back did mi pre ride checks noticed tight link!!!said to myself "i'll replace it next weekend (with sprockets!)" accelerating hard to about 70mph off the power on the brakes and the SNAP!
,
YAMMAHA wanted £700 for a new swinging arm about £400 plus for plastics ect not to mention the hole in my leathers and mi arse cheek!! if i had had a pasenger on they would probably have lost there leg!! ive certainly learn't my lesson PROPER CHECKS AND MAINTAINANCE A MUST!

Hi,
I'm new here.
My name is Olli and I live in Farnborough, Hampshire
I really enjoyed riding my FZR1000 RU, but the time has come for me to move on.
I'm getting out of biking for personal reasons.
My 15month old Dobermann was killed by a speeding driver just over a year ago.
We now have another Dobermann... 10months old
I would rather go for walks with the dog than go out and risk my life with all the idiots out on the road.
SOOO.... I will be selling ALL my bikes, parts and accessories
It's going to take me a while to sort through everything, so if you need ANY FZR1000 parts or GSXR400RR, give me a shout.
If it wasn't for that terrible accident, I would probably be out there now with you guys and girls.
Ride safe.
BFN Olli
Sory about yer dog mate i was lookin at the pics of yer bike AWESOME hope you decide to ride it my kids say my dog pics his ears up when im up to 2miles away . he always pounces before iv'e had chance to take mi lid off
He was hit by a moped a few years ago £800 and a couple of opps and a lotta heart ache so i can imagine how ya feel mate
