I have just received a 1981 maxim from a buddy and I'm fixin it up. One of the problems that I've gotten to is that the throttle control (on the handle bar) is broken. The plasic on the inside of the grip shattered, making it impossible to have any control over the throttle. Im just hoping that I wont have to replace the whole thing because of this! Any quick fixes? Thanks for your time!

Just wondering if anyone knows what types of batteries a 1981 maxim 650 uses and where to get them. I am located in USA so if possible I would like to purchase the battery in the us too. Thanks for you time!
