  1. Hello Everyone, Just thought I'd add this topic as a helper for anyone wishing to install their own autocom system (my local dealership wanted to charge me £90 to install mine) I've installed and set my system up on my 2006 FZ6 Fazer and am more than willing to help others set theirs up as well. To be honest this isn't that difficult but it can look a bit daunting as in the pack you get what looks like mountains of wires and a booklet that doesn't really give you much help as it is really ment to be installed by your dealer but it only took me about two hours (one hour of which was taking off my fairing) so not long at all really right I got the mid range version the Autocom kit 200 duo its a pretty versatile little bit of kit giving you music, phone and pillion from the go and expendable for bike to bike and gps as well. Little tip grab a tea towel or something you can put you bit's and bob's in that way they wont get lost right open up your box and have a look at you shiney new bit of kit nice isn't it now the first thing you will want to do is grab yourself a little 9v battery and test that it works to do this open the back and in there you will see a 9v connector plug it in and attach the battery and of course a headset can attach an mp3 player or cd player or even a radio at this point you are just finding out if the kit is working if it is then you now have a decision to make do you want to power the kit from the bike or just battery I chose to do it via the bike so this will be the focus of this guide but should you need help with a battery set up just post me a question and I'll try to give you any help that I can anyway on with the guide hopefully you will still have the back plate off of the unit take off the 9v connector and replace it with the bike power connector you will need to grab a pair of pliers to break off the little bit of black plastic which sits on the bottom of the main unit this will allow you to put the back plate back on and pull the black rubber stopper through to create a seal now you are ready to look at your bike have a look and see where on the bike you want the unit to sit (mine is in the tool kit space under my seat) now you know where it is going to go crimp the blue eyelet on to the black earth wire and attach it to your battery on the negative side now you will need to find a wire that is only on when you ignition is on otherwise the system will be on perminantly and it will drain your battery I chose the rear light not the brake light though to find this out I followed the wires back to the main loom and disconnected it leaving me with three pins then all i did was turned on the ignition and touched the red power wire to each in turn and to make sure I touched each pin again after applying the breaks now you know which one you want find a good place and you can either cut and splice or solder the wires together but only do this once you have the unit in place and are sure that everything fits to hold the unit in place autocom have helpfully given you some velcro use it to hold your unit in place run the wires as above tuck the other plugs to the side and put your bike back together and thats you just about done for the bike side of things just fiddle about with the plugs so that they are in a place that is comfortable and that nothing is trapped or loose you do get some clips on the pack I personally didn't use them as they i didn't really need them and if placed on any shiney bits if you try to remove them they will most definately leave residue and if you try to sell the bike on at a later date could cost you but it's up to you right other that fitting the headset to your helmet your done now I'm not going to go into fitting the headset as i could be hear for an age trying to give you guides for all the different types of helmet there are on the market to get an idea of what to do just go to the autocom website as there are pdf's for most helmet types. I hope this guide has been helpful and please don't hesitate to post any questions as I'll try to check this area once a week to anwser you good luck and enjoy you autocom system.

  3. Hello Everyone, New to the Fazer Family I passed my test yesterday and had my 06 fazer waiting for me at the local dealership but they didn't think I'd pass so they didn't have it ready for me so now I've got to wait till 15:30 tomorrow before I can go and pick it up Damn Dealerships lol anyway are there any decent runs going on in the area as I wanna give it a blast it's only got 398 on the clock so it's barely even run in yet plus i think it's been sitting for a while (i know at least three weeks as that's how long they've been holding it for me) give me a shout back if you know of any runs going on Cheers Vilethor
