got an 85 Yamaha XJ700N, the intake boots have both gaskets and O rings. the O rings are worn down completely. Now I've seen some videos where there's only an O ring on the Intake Boots, not a gasket as well. do I NEED the gaskets? or can I be good with just new O rings?

Hello 👋, brand new to this forum and bikes in general. Picking up my XR 125 R (2010, 4K miles) in a few days and want advise on what work is advisable / essential on a bike that's been sat for a long time (roughly 5 years). It starts, rides and stops fine. Only problem I could find is electric start doesn't work, doesn't even attempt to start on the button. apparently worked fine before going into storage Also neutral light wouldn't light up.

Evening.. Looking to strip and rebuild the brakes on my 2008 XT125R. I can find rebuild kits online for the rear brake caliper and pistons but nothing for the front caliper. Are the pistons and seals the same size as the rear. I could strip them and measure up but looking to get all the parts required 'before' I take anything apart so I can strip, clean and rebuild all in one go.. Any help appreciated.. IK..

Hey all. A little while ago my SR 125 stopped running (while riding) and i haven't been able to revive it yet. Carb and spark are fine, changed the spark plug and battery, so i'm thinking my valves aren't up to spec. Adjusted the intake valve clearance without much issue, but i cant seem to get the exhaust valve cover off. One bolt is placed at such an angle that the frame gets in the way of my spanner. Has anyone managed to get the cover off without removing the engine from the frame? Cheers

Having retired from biking due to old age and stiff vertebrae, l find myself volunteered to replace the above for my grandson Can anybody point me to a tutorial or better still video showing how it's done please? I did maintain all my previous bikes, T140V Bonneville, 850 Commando and DBD34 Rocket Gold Star so no averse to spinning the spanners Thanks for reading

Hi, discovered I had no coolant left in the scooter so had to fill up with water. Maintenance and technical stuff is new to me so I haven't a clue about this. What coolant does this take and where can I get it in the UK? Manual just says take it to a Yamaha dealer. Internet won't tell me anything at all! Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a Majesty YP 250 from the year 2000. Bought her for a song 6 months back (at 28k miles), and replaced a few bits to use for the daily commute. Soon after getting the Maj. had a drive belt snap (likely it was very old). Got a genuine Yamaha belt and replaced. Noted that variator pulley had a slight 'step' in it, which was notable when throttle off from about 60mph down to 55-ish. Anyway, six months and about 4.5k miles after replacing belt it's gone again. Considering replacing both pulleys along with new belt, and have a couple of questions for any thoughts, please: 1) Majesty pulleys for older years seem nigh on impossible to find at j…

I have a '94 Virago 535 with 10,500mi's and the front shocks are quite spongy. Seals appear to be in good shape. I'm thinking of replacing them with an adjustable version to reduce the dive, rear shock is a bit soft too. I'm 5'10" 180lbs, so not that big. Any recommendations?

Hi I have recently noticed that both brake callipers have moment in them. It's not where the bracket is but where the actual calliper sits. The whole calliper has Tiny amount of movement in it. It almost seems like it is meant to move because it has tiny spongy plastic gator on the brake calliper mount, just wanted to make sure tho. So if someone could advise me that would be a great help as I aM worried that it will brake it if I continue to ride it many thanks dtstrider

Hi all I'm new YOC and this is my very first post. I am currently restoring my father's old Yamaha rx125 it's been in the family since new in 1980 but has sat in a garage for the last 12 years. I have just replaced the fork seals and I was hoping one of you fine gents could inform me as to the amount of oil in each leg and what the air gap should be, local bike shop said around 100mm air gap should be fine, I put 200mls in each leg then sucked out oil to 100mm while fully compressed but feels too stiff.

Not sure what happened but my post disappeared when the Workshop sub-forum was restructured so posting this again. So I'm trying to bring my WR250F (2003) back to life again which has been stashed away for over three years now. It was working great before then and I even wrote up a project about it on here around 5 years ago (https://yamahaclub.com/forums/topic/37457-2003-wr250f-legalize-it-project/). Is there anything I should be doing first and foremost before I try to start it? I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right in case something gets messed up in the process. The bike is stored in a locked building so there is no worry of the elements gettin…
