  9. Hi, I'm from Ottawa, Canada, where the temperature is at 0C/32F right now. ( Dec 8th.) I'm in my garage restoring a newly acquired 1976 XS500 to a pretty nice daily rider condition. I had a lot of bikes in my misspent youth. Started with a Honda Z50 (apparently a collectors item now! That's the funniest thing I ever heard.) then several Yamaha 2 stroke twins, then Suzuki fours: a GS550, 750 and 1100e. Somewhere in there, I commuted for a couple of summers on a Honda CB350, and briefly a CB400F. My last bike was a 1978 Ducati Darmah. No bikes for about 20 years and now a Yamaha XS500.. Why the XS500? Well I longed for a 70's bike, but many of them are now too …

Hi all, I've been riding my xvs dragstar 125 for almost 2 years now on cbt and have had an accident recently. The bike has sustained a few cosmetic injuries in the form of scratched mirror and crash bars and rear indicator but the worst damage is the handlebars which are bent, I have replacement bars but as I'm still a Noob at fixing everything (I've done a fair bit as I have been riding for a while but not a great deal) I was wondering if I could get help on the removal of the old bars and the fitting of the replacement bars and instruments, thanks a lot for any help you can give

Hi All I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to cost too much money, so it has sat in his garage since then. So it's not reg, in the UK and has never …

Finally, I am new to biking. Taken a few years to persuade the missus! Taught her to drive 6 years ago, had twist and go for 5 years and finally, after that gave up the ghost and thanks to not being able to afford a second car, I got the response "get what the hell you like"! So now a proud owner of an SR125! Now being accused of having a mid life crisis! Hey ho! Another year or so and I might get permission to get my full licence.

  20. Hi all I have just joined this club after getting a Yamaha TDM 900 its a great bike with bags of torque so that means fewer gear changes, and as the engine is a parallel twin with the crank set at 270 degrees it sounds and runs similar to a V twin so the engine weight is central making it handle soooo easily, the only problem I have with it is something to do with an air intake flap that makes for jerky running at small throttle openings, something that was sorted in 2007 by remapping by all accounts but mine is a 2012 model ? It is manageable with care though apart from that its a superb ride, my other bike is a 1962 AJS 650cc twin great fun to ride. Is there a Yamaha c…
