.........just to say hello to everyone from the forum. Im from Norfolk and Ive been into bikes for around four years and Ive always fancied a project. A mate of mine has recently sold me an 86 FJ1200 in black and this is to be my project. Its not in bad condition but needs a ruddy good clean, as its been hiding away in his garage for a while. Il try not to ask stupid questions and I promise to use the search facility first!

Hi All, I have just joined the forum. I have had a Yamaha TW 125 for a year and after spending a lot of money at the garage on probably fairly simple maintenance, I have begun to learn how the whole thing works and came across this forum. Hopefully, advice from other members along the way may teach me a thing or two. This is my first bike, although I have driven lots abroad, and am desperate to get something bigger but the licence costs mini fortune so have to wait for a bit. Cheers

Hello All Yes I'm a bike virgin but just about to leave that taboo behind. I've just booked my full test for mid April (sh@&ing it abit). Anyway after I left the test school parting with my hard earn money I drove past a bike shop, and popped inside. As I was wondering around looking at the untamed gleaming beasts I came across a R6. It was on a 57 plate with 2600 miles on it, it was the white and red version however the previous owner had all the red stickers removed and had the side panels sprayed like a Perlesant white. The dealer had it up for £5499 which I being a novice to the world of biking thought, it was a good price. Any how I pushed my luck and got th…

Hi everyone my name is Craig and I'm new to this, I recently bought a dt125r 1999 model and It runs fine untill 5th gear where it stays at 9000 revs at 60mph (6th gear useless because of this) I de-restricted airbox which helped acceleration and I pulled out Reed switch (not cut just moved out of way) which I thought let it rev freely but did nothing? I know my powervalve needs put on right position as its lined up in restricted form and maybe my cdi needs de restricted? I've got standard exhaust chamber de restricted and a dep end can but I know it can do more than 60mph any ideas or help would Be much appreciated thanks

Hi I'm Paddy, I have a Diversion XJ600S from 1998 (R reg) a week ago it broke down as if it had run out of fuel, slowly running out of revs and effort. It has compression of 150psi on each cylinder, a new fuel pump that is connected right, lovely bright blue sparks from new plugs, twice cleaned carbs and when I fire her by pouring fuel straight into the carbs does a lovely clean and even sounding roar, then dies! All fuses ok, all electrical connections ok. New yellow top battery. Fuel tank cleaned out and all filters checked. It has had a mayonnaise winter problem before but always runs fine after cleaning out its lines. Any ideas folks? I'm running out of them! Cheers.
