Greetings Everyone, I'm 35 and from Singapore. Been lurking in these forums for a while and am pretty happy to find that it's quite active and full of informative posts. Got myself a XVS400 Dragstar Classic a week ago and enjoying it so far. Have lots of questions to ask. I am good with a wrench, but have no experience working with bikes. I'll have a lot to learn from the guys here. Ride safe!

Hi, new to the biking world. Did my direct access in August this year and promptly went out and got myself an xj6 diversion as it was familiar being the bikes that the school used. Massively happy with it at the moment, used mainly for commuting but will put some mileage on it next year. Looking forward to learning off the masses of experience that is evident on this forum.

Hey all. I'm a welder/fabricator, wireman, and... a petrol head like you. I'll probably lurk a bit, chat occasionally and have more questions than answers. I've just been given a DT 125 by a mate who has too many bikes and not enough time. I had a 175 briefly 25 years ago but swapped It for a Montessa. I intend to tart it up a bit, doing bits gradually, when I can, as I have too many bikes not enough time! I'll apologise now for my first question! What year is my bike?

Hi This is Tony, new member - just joined. Bikes: Yamaha YZf R125, Yamaha XVS 125, Honda Forza 125 (for everyday commuting) Have just bought the XVS, lovely bike, not too fast but then you don'#t ride these for speed! 60 is fine for enjoying the countryside. Has anybody on here thought about an exhust upgrade? I was kind of thinking Highway Hawk but wondered what sort of rejetting would be needed? Any thoughts....

Hello YOC! I've just joined this forum in order to help maintain my bike, a 2010 YBR-125. It's my first bike, and although I've already fallen off it once (sorry) I'm keen to keep it in good nick. I've recently passed my CBT and am hoping to go to Direct Access soon, though learning to drive a car may come first to help with some confidence issues. Looking forward to chatting to you all.

Hi all, New member, been riding my 950 midnight date for a year now and have loved every minute. She's not let me down once and has been some of the most enjoyable riding I've done in 15 years riding bikes. Looking forward to to getting to know some of you a little better over the next few months Cheers Richie

Hello all! I'm glad I've found this place, I've been looking for a decent and active yamaha forum for a while! Quick intro I suppose, I'm from Scotland, been on bikes since the ripe old age of 4 and raced for most of my life until I came off the R6 and smashed my shoulder to smithereens. I've since bought an MT-125 (just 3 weeks ago) for the road and the commute to try and satisfy my need for the two wheels. The MT is a cracking bike and I reckon I'll go for the MT-07 once I get round to doing my A2, either that or an XJ-6. Either way, I'm rambling. Nice to meet you all

Hey there, So, i'm Josh, 26 years young, from the UK. I'm relatively new to the bike scene though I've always loved them and have found this Forum to be very useful, so here I am :), as what seems to be very common practice, my first bike is the Yamaha XVS 125 Dragstar, slightly customised. Sadly, my baby does require some work in order to get her road worthy, downside of second hand purchases Being a complete novice i'm wanting to be sure before I buy the parts that they will be right, so my question, my rear wheel apparently needs to be replaced due to "cracks in the drum" fair enough, which leads me to the help I need, my bike is the 2001 m…

Hello, my name is Stuart and I'm from bonny Scotland. In 1988 I travelled across Australia on a Yamaha XJ650 and recently bought a similar one. I have the VIN number but only has 9 characters and would like to find out a bit more about the bike. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!

Back in 1973 I bought an RD250 from the horrid bike dealer Gambier Reeks. I holed a piston and dropped in a 350cc engine rather than repair. The RD I had was the round tank edition with blue paintwork. I was young and naive with no mechanical background (then)... so when the small ends went, regrettably I sold it and bought a 500-4. Later, in 90's I bought an FJ1200 and kept her for 13 years, an awesome bike she ate consumables but was a 'rocket sofa' LOL.... I had several bikes over the years, too many to mention here - eventually I succumbed to getting onto a BMW GSA Adventure - it was stolen and I saw sense decided to be more practical, thoughtfully got an …

Just a "hello"! My name is Tony (as if you couldn't have guessed!) I'm up near Carnforth - top left hand corner of Lancashire. I picked up my Tracer 700 (2020 model, 21 plate) last weekend - and (eventually) found this group. I'm hoping to find lots of useful info here, hopefully relevant to the UK. I've been riding for years - lots of different bikes. The Tracer might be the nearest I've found to suit what I do - fine weather rides around the Lakes and Dales. I'm looking forward to it - when the rain stops! That'll do for now - don't want to bore you all too much!
