Hello. I have built a trail bike from a BSA Bantam frame and have fitted a SR125 engine. So far it has carried me all round the wonderful lanes of Lancashire and, a few years I took it up to Orkney and Shetland to ride around the islands. It is one of three bikes I own, a 2005 mildly modified Royal Enfield Electra X and a replica 1942 WD RE/CO sidecar outfit. Currently I am preparing the BSA to take to the Somme in June. Unfortunately I have discovered metal shavings on the oil filter as mentioned in my post under 'Projects'. Looking forward to joining the forum.

Hello everyone, I've just got my hands on a '86 RD350N1 YPVS. I got it for a good price because the engine was seized. The engine hasn't run for years, so I was hoping the seizure was just the pistons stuck in the bores. Unfortunately not, one of the I've been riding and servicing bikes for years, but this is my first engine rebuild. I've tended to steer clear of engine internals, preferred to leave it to the pro's, but now it's time to get stuck in, I don't think I can break it anymore than it already is. Hopefully you guys will be able to give me some pointers when things get tricky? I'm documenting my progress here, so feel free to have a…

Hello everyone! I am in Idaho (the potato state of America). I am new to the YOC... I actually registered right after I bought my 1972 Yamaha (last December), but have been über-swamped with school (currently working on my thesis for a Master's of Education in Instructional Technology)... long story longer... I am finally posting so I'm not considered a total "lurker". I've been trying to read all of the new member posts, and it sounds like such an interesting bunch. Can't wait to learn from all of the experience you have! This is my first motorcycle. Sorry about the blurry pic. I got her for $1000 from someone who's grandfather had her in the garage for years. She…

Hey there all! I am new to all of this, bikes, web forums, etc. I am hoping to learn a lot and meet some people. I find it so amazing the geographical differences among the members here. Anyway, just bought my first bike, a 1987 Virago XV535. I purchased primarily for the fuel savings when commuting to and from work. I don't yet have my endorsement to ride, but hoping to be hitting the blacktop early next week. Thanks for having me! See you around the board, maybe even the road!

Hello, I’m a new member, and I’ve just been handed a 60’s era 125 vtwin which I’ve been told is “rare”. It’s in need of some attention so I’m looking forward to sharing pics and picking brains in the future. (supposed to be helping kids with homework, if the missus catches me I’m a goner, so bye for today !)

Hello to one and all, I live in Denmark and have just bought my first scooter, a Yamaha Neo´s 50 (used) its been legal for 6 days and I´m well chuffed. I have absolutly no previous experience or knowledge of scooters so I hope over time, I can become wiser in all areas and aspects of scooters and scootering. I already have a couple of issues which are puzzling me, but I´ll post them later. Cheers, Julian

Hello all. Just joined up and just recently got a new 2010 VStar 650 Classic. Love the bike and look forward to checking out the forum posts around here. I don't do a whole lot of touring. I more or less just enjoy a ride in to work, or out to visit some friends and such on a nice day. Though I am thinking maybe a few day trips this summer would be fun, if I can sneak away from the family that is James.

Hi there, I've recently bought a 1980 xs250 to restore/bob and it's my first bike (complete novice-ish) I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire and am a freelance photographer for a BMX magazine. With the combination of spare time and riding a BMX for 15 years getting a motorcycle feels kinda natural. Anyways, hello to everyone and thanks for having me. Joe [sharedmedia=garage:vehicles:999]

Currently riding TDM 900 06 model and very happy I am with it. Had a fabulous summer riding throughouot wales and the south west for three weeks and never got wet! In all of my biking experience that's a personal record (been riding for 40 years). Those twin front brakes from the R1 are efficient stoppers, just dont pull them on too hard in the wet if you can avoid it.... Noticing more and more old bikers now and fewer young people taking to two wheels; its a shame , since bikers learn to read the road much better than car drivers and sometimes I think it shows in the sloppiness of some drivers today. Of course the bike test is much more difficult today and a course is …
