Hello everyone, Just joined the club to see what goes on with a view to become a full member and thought I would introduce myself. Got my first bike at 17 in 1968, Yamaha C90 and over the years had many yamaha's including 2 fjr1300's, a Diversion 600 and 3 Tracers with the 9GT being the bike I'm now on two and a half years old with almost 18000 miles on it.I also have a Triumph bonneville t100(sorry if that's swearing on this forum) I joined the IAM when I reached 68 years old to see if I was still capable to ride and still riding at 72 so must be doing something right.

Hi there. I bought my first motorcycle a few weeks ago - a XS400. Previous owner had said it was running a little rough a few years ago and took off the tank to do some maintenance... and never finished the job. After cleaning out a strange green gunk (is that what gas looks like when it is 2 years old?) and rebuilding the carb, got it started after many tries. It is running pretty rough, and hesitates when revved. One cylinder doesn't seem to be firing (one exhaust pipe is cold), but it does have spark. Seems to be getting fuel... as gasoline sputters out the tailpipe on that side. So... I've got some work to do.

Managed to pick up this little beauty for only £175. She runs really well and is just in need of a little tlc to get her through the MOT. Image not available

Been riding since 1986 but fell out of the habit for a few years when I developed a Chronic pain condition.. but figure, lifes too short to mope about and so its finally time to resurect my life and remove a partially dead bike from the living room I'm excited to get out and ride and live again, so... here I am. Hi everyone, Just a quick note to say hello. My name is Stu, I'm 50 and I've been a biker since I was 16. I've been through a number of bikes over the years, including my share of Yamahas. My favourite was an old XT 550. For the last few years I've had a BMW R1200 GS and BMW C1 125 - I suppose you could say I'm a confirmed BMW'er now - something to do with age, I suspect. However, I've just bought a lovely old 1998 SR 125 for my lad, hence my joining the forum. Really nice condition, under 8,000 miles and obviously very well looked after. Its old, its clunky, its not very fast but its a classic. It's got those great '80s chopper/cruiser looks though and ev…

Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Denis, 48, French and I've been living in England for quite a few years. Apart from having driven 50cc mopeds and scooters (not very recently) I've only driven a geared motorbike once about 30 years ago. As you see I'm quite the newbie. Well, hopefully that'll change soon as I've just purchased a XVS125 and should pass my CBT next week-end. I've joined hoping to gather information and advice about this bike (worthwhile modifications, accessories, maintenance...) and the motorcycling world in general. Hopefully, if and when I get more knowledgeable, I'll be able to return the favours an…

Hello my name is Dylan I have a 2003 XV250 that I've been riding for about a month I joined this group because i'm looking for people who know their way around a bike so I can ask questions and learn how to fix up my bike because I'd rather do work on it myself than pay someone else to .

just purchased a 1974 MX250 with an eye on mixed trail riding and vintage motocross. It needs pretty well everything...... LOL! I'm 58 years old and I used to race back in the '70's. I was never very fast but had a great time hanging with friends. When I saw this poor old dog in the local want ads I just had to pounce. I would send some photos but the allowable file size is too small.......... Any help on race prep would be greatly appreciated! peace, Bruce

Hello all, New to riding (CBT two weeks ago), new to bike ownership - 2011 YBR 125 Custom - and still a rather wobbly rider. I managed two outings on my new bike, in and around West Sussex and the outskirts of Brighton (Devil's Dyke to be precise) before getting a puncture, so the bike's been on the drive for a week while I start to negotiate the world of tyres, chains and sprockets (about which I've already posted somewhere else in the forum)... Looking forward to getting out and about again, and the principle plan of a twenty-mile round commute. I'm rapidly realising how much motorcyclists like talking about motorcycles, and I'm already thinking ahead to 'D…
