I am a new member and made the mistake of not introducing my self properly. I am a 56 year old male in central NY state. I have been a bike rider since about the age of 12 or so. I have ridden off and on overs the years when I had something to ride. All my previous bikes have been Yamahas. I recently purchased a 1996 Yamaha Royal Star 1300 and it is in great shape. I am in the process of changing some of the items on the bike. I am not really mechanically inclined or knowledgeable about the different styles of bikes. As most of you know it is far cheaper to buy used items and not new. So hopefully as a member of this group I will be able to get some answers that are factua…

Hello mates! How are y'all? I'm a 17 year old high school student that has recently bought a 1980 Yamaha DT175 (not sure if its a MX). I'm currently in year 12 and got another year in year 13 since I'm doing the british A level system. I'm a big car and engine guy and while this I'm also a bike person. I hope we get on together since in the end we're one community. This is my bike:

Hi folks, Just saying hello to you all Recently got myself a DT 175 MX to go with my Other bike! I've owned my 400/4 for over 25 years, its a lovely ride but up until recently I'm not so keen on getting her wet, all that chrome takes a while to polish and the road salt doesn't do it much good either, so from now on its a summer / dry weather bike. However, I wanted a commuter/wet weather bike so I bought a DT 175 The idea is the 175 will be my winter/wet bike. Don't worry folks the 175 will be kept just as nice as my Honda! Here's a picture to wet your appetite for the 70's NE0

  12. Started by Grizzle,

I'm Graham from the Wirral, near Liverpool. After scooting around on my Aprilia SR 50 for a while to get my confidence up, I've taken the jump onto a 1993 TDR 125. The last time I rode a bike with gears was about 25 years ago (I'm now 35) and the thought of doing it was a bit daunting until I had a go on my friends DT 125 the other week. I wasn't as bad as I expected so I went on the hunt for a bargain bike to start with. Then, I managed to pick up the TDR for £450. It only needed a kick start pedal, new clutch/brake levers and a few panel screws/bolts replacing and a good few Monster Energy stickers removing as they looked tacky. Future plans are - R…

Just a quick Hello. Hoping I can get a little help here and there to learn a bit more about Yamaha's, so I will apologise now for asking stupid questions and sounding like a complete spanner. But as my dear old Dad used to say "if you don't ask you may never know, and is easier to look stupid for 5 minuets than 5 years". Cheers, Ratchet

Hello to one 'n' all. Living SE Ireland. Have spent weeks trying to find a yamaha xvs950 midnight star for sale but closest "for sale" bikes are in UK. Seems that they failed emissions regs here but i believe that i can still bring in a used bike, as long as it has a certain minimum mileage on it. Have any of you knowledgeable folks any input?. I'd be grateful for any info. Paul.

  15. Hi, hi. So now I've joined the biking community, albeit a little later in life than most as I'm 28, but thought it was about time I joined a forum. Got myself a new YBR Custom back in May, had really wanted an XVS 125 as my first bike, but they are like gold dust! Was with the Mg-Rover.org forums when I had my previous car and it was great a resource and place to chat about people with interests, so I look forward to sharing stories with all you helpful folk. Jon.

Hi all, My name is Deano, my friend and I passed out tests in Septemer 2014. He decided to buy a Triumph Daytona, so I decided to get a 2003 Yamaha Thundercat in the R6 blue, after seeing my Uncles R1.

Hi Everyone, I am from Sydney, Australia and have just purchased a Yamaha TownMate T80 that is still in the UK awaiting shipment to Sydney. I worked in Greece for a few years in the early 90s renting cars and mopeds and used to rent these bullet proof machines and I was instantly hooked. With fuel prices getting out of control here, this is the machine to have, even though Yamaha Australia, in their wisdom, never imported the TownMate into Australia. Very much looking forward to receiving it and restoring it so I am on the lookout for NOS parts for it, so if anyone knows of where I could source some parts, please let me know, I would appreciate it. It would…

For all those living in the UK, I have recently passed my CBT and have ordered myself a YBR125 (collecting next weekend!) I'm really looking forward to gaining some more road experience before I work towards my full licence. I'll share pictures of my YBR once I've collected it.
