Hi All Been looking at this forum for a number of months now, silly for me to have joined earlier! Anyway, my name is Jayson. 23 years old and living in Cape Town, South Africa. I've always ridden bikes, starting with motocross - although never raced - and ending up racing supermotards. In the next 3 days I will be leaving the bike shop I'm working for which is called Retro Prestige Motorcycles (https://www.facebook.com/Retro.Prestige.Motorcycles). It was a startup business which I helped open and designed. Dealing with mostly classic bikes and cafe racers and accessories, I ran the back office and in the end I landed up building cafe's and trackers. So some of my…

Just a quick intro, my name's Dave. OK so it’s midlife crisis time. I’ve decided that now is the time to get a bike. To make it easier to pass my test I’ve got a YBR125. I love it! I have used it to commute to work which is 30 miles away down the A40 and it will sit at 60mph. It does wobble a bit when trucks go by but it just adds to the fun. When I pass my test later this month I plan to get a XVS950 Midnight Star (when funds allow). I plan to do as much maintenance as possible myself to reduce running costs so I may have some questions from time to time. Take care and have fun.

Hi All Time to introduce myself properly, forgive me for not doing so in my earlier post, tbh i am new to biking and message boards etc so please forgive my ignorance in that matter! My name is Chris, i am 33 and am relatively new to biking, although I wish now that I had taken it up years ago!!! Love getting out on my bike which currently is a yamaha YBR 125, this is my first bike and my aim is to do my practical test at some point in the near future and gradually move up to something with a little more kick (but not too much!!!) I am not the most technically minded person in the world but I am enthusatic to try things with the bike in terms of maintainence …

  15. Started by ZZEF,

Hi everybody! I'm Yozef but please call me "Zef" I'm now the proud owner of a nice little XVS Dragstar 125 which I love to pieces. I picked her up for £800 squid as she needed some work doing (half the jobs are nearing completion now). Where was the advert based? Bristol. So like a madman I decided to get a coach down south, check the bike out and if all seems reasonable I'll ride her back. 200 miles, 7 hours and bloodshot eyes, a nice result for navigating back on A roads with only the use of an old map book and an mp3 loaded with the best of black sabbath. A great way for you to get to know your brand new bike never the less and a eventful experience. Anyhow…

  16. Started by SteveMcs,

Hi everyone, i'm a 20 year old student in norfolk just got back into the two-wheeled world after a year out. I've always been a yamaha fan.. my first bike was a 2000 xj600, then a 1993 fzr600, then a 1991 virago 535 then a year out and now i'm on a 1997 thundercat. As you can probably tell, i like my old school bikes. I got my thundercat as a high mpg commuter as i do 60 miles per day but after a few rides i quickly realized it was far better than just a cheap hack! It is by far the best all round bike i've ever ridden. No matter what i want to do whether it be just eating up the miles, or having fun with other bikers on a sunday, or taking a roadtrip 2 up it does it all …

Hi! My other half has acquired a Dt175 possibly mx version from roughly 1974. I'm here to try and get some info on how to fix it as I think it's been thrown together with odd parts. Also, someone has taken the magnets out the magneto flywheel... 🙈

  20. Hey guys, Finally got around to joining the 2-wheels club. Dad used to ride Harley's years ago until he broke his ankle and couldn't take the weight anymore but as a lad I always wanted to ride his bikes. Sat on the idea for a long time until getting with my girlfriend who is from a riding family, her granddad especially who rides a beautiful 09' Triumph Bonneville. After a few pillion rides on that I was hooked, GF did her A2 and has got herself a Bonnie too and I bought her 07 YBR 125 off her after doing my CBT. So I do feel a bit of a mug going out on a 125 in between two classic bikes but hey, we all got to start somewhere haven't we!? I do have to say that…
