Actually my first time to join a forum as well... My name is Matt, I'm from Oklahoma City, and I've spent the last year stripping and rebuilding my first motorcycle. It's an XS 850 SG motor in a 750 2D frame. I have relied almost solely on the Clymers and bought the bike in reasonable working order. It needed a complete run-through and was running very rich at mid to low rpm, as well as had a few leaks and lots of rust. I'm the guy who's Dad and Uncle had bikes, and subsequent mishaps, and therefore the answer to the question "Can I get a motorcycle?" was always Hell No! Anyway, 39 years and 3 kids later, I'm diving in. I'm about to fire it up for the first time in a year…

Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself. From Devon but in London through the week. Been thinking about bikes all my life but was worried I would kill myself, so waited till I was old and responsible! After a year of commuting on my Honda 125 CBF I finally took my DAC. Wasn't going to upgrade for a while but seeing as a Jag decided to take me out and write my bike off a couple of weeks ago I took the plunge and bought a Fazer 800. Have I made a crazy mistake? No one on the forum seems to own or talk about them! Good or bad? Look forward to some feedback! Cheers.

Hi All, just a quick note to say hello. My name is Pete and i'm from South Yorkshire. I have recently bought a 1994 XJ 900F in Blue and White - loving it! There are bits and pieces that need doing so doubtless I will be back on bugging you all in the near future. Used to have a single cylinder BMW F650 and the change to a four cylinder machine is unbelievable! Anyway nice to have met you all and don't forget to cheer on Rotherham United in the 1st division second leg semi final play off tonight!!!! Happy Trails, Pete.

Hi, There is an incredible amount of knowledge on here and a good online community. So I just had to join! I have just recently passed my CBT back in March and I haven't looked back since! I am an owner of a 2001 Dragstar (XVS125) which has been great fun to learn on albeit it sometimes tricky to perfect U-turns!! I have my theory test next Thursday so I am looking to take on the practical tests soon. However, at this time I need more experience on a bike and the roads before that. I am based in North London so I am learning fast! Nice to meet you all! Ben

I got into this Yamaha owners thing by accident last year. A friend of mine had bought a 1991 Yamaha XJ600 Pre Div in 2013, spent a year trying to get it to run, and partially succeeded - (It might deign to run when the weather was dry), but he got fed up with it refusing to run if there was even a smidgen of moisture in the air. The straw which broke the camel's back, was the day it was booked for an MOT and, (it being a rainy day) the thing wouldn't start. Various teddies were thrown out of prams, and my friend said, "if you want it, you can have it for what I paid for it, I've had enough!" Since said friend had just replaced the exhaust with a Motad 4-1 and repl…

Just would like to say hello to Yamaha Owners Club. I"m an old guy in his late 60s that still likes to have fun. Got a Honda ST1300 for serious travel but like the scooter for general around the area fun. Had problems with the TMAX right from the start. In fact, its in the shop for a fuel pump replacement. I noticed on hot days that it would give me fits. Wouldn't run. Got me stranded several times. Let it cool down and it would run for days without a problem. Read up on some TMAX problems on the MajestyUSA site. TMAX + hot days = stranded. That got my attention and notified the local dealer and they are tending to the situation. I'm hoping my troubles are over.

Hi Guys and Gals , nice to be part of a group of like-minded individuals who love to be on two wheels. I purchased my 1980 XS250 Special over 15 years ago, rode it home , parked it and haven’t started or ridden it since. Long story but nice to be in a position now where I can spend some time and money to get her back and running (I hope) Will post a couple of photos in the next few days along with trying to source tyres, battery etc. I’m here to share what I know (shouldn’t take long ) and pick some brains too. Nice to be on board. Cheers PJ

Hi, How is everyone? I am the IT literate daughter of Gordon, once upon a time he had massive bikes and looked dashing in his leathers....Now he's a grandfather with a wee scooter (XMAX 250). Slight change but he loves it He even talked my hubby into getting his own wee scooter (SYM Eurojet) which is perfect for his commute. We joined because my Dad loves to read and talk about bikes so with me doing the typing he might actually get something out of this. And he has a querie if anyone can help? Thanks, Sarah Gordon's Daughter & the old man himself

Hi all, I've just bought a 2017 MT07, I've had bikes previous and really wanted the new R6 but as I have 0 NCB (I haven't rode in 3 years) insurance was coming back at 3k+! Hopefully I've made the right choice, a bit worried about power being low and considered a 16 MT09 but the size and throttle issues put me off a bit and what finished it was the tiny dash. I've asked for an alarm and tracker to be installed (which I think I've been charged wrongly for) and looking to get a disc lock and possibly a ground anchor for the garage. Just trying to get insurance as low as I can. Currently in Portugal in 43 degree heat so I pick it up on the 10th with a fu…

Hey there. My name is Adam and I'm just beginning my adventure with motorbikes. I've got a XVS Dragstar 125. I currently live in East London and I am a University student. I've always like the cruisers bike and at the moment I was purchasing my bike I had quite a bit of a choice when it came to choosing my first motorbike. I've read a little bit about them before I've made my final choice to be a XVS Dragstar 125cc

Hello my name is Sakari from estonia, i have had many bikes in my life but stuck to enduro and motocross . Got to this forum by buying a 1999 Yamaha DT 125R for rides in the town. Got to say i love my DT the most of my bikes because its light and simple but can have a lot of fun with. Needs a bit work but thats okay got it for 650 euros so its all good, starts good, rides good, has good power for its cc, but has a damn restrictor set to 90 kmh which needs investigating.

Hey guys ! First time ever joining a forum and i guessed the YOC was the best option ! The first bike i ever rode legally was a DTR 125 and since then it's always Yamaha i end up with ! I currently have 3 motorcycles , DTR 125 , RS125 ,and Fazer 600. I passed my test about 6 months ago and sadly with the new laws in scotland the fazer has to be restricted ! . So yeah, along with that , i'm 20 , from Caithness (scotland) and i think thats all for now ! Cheers!
