Afternoon all from a nice sunny London, Hoping that i can pick somebodys brain regarding the above, Ive got a 1987 Grey import, That is finally running on all 4 cyls, But just took it out for a run, and i do think that there is a restrictor of some sort liked into the speed side of things, Revs lovely through the gears, up to about 45/50 mph, then its as if it retards itself, Any help finding this pesky device would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Mike

Brought a bit of a dog as a project..... before http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/l506/StuartWags/ did all the work myself, work needed:- Exhaust = rotted disk pads = stuffed all round fork seals = well leaking tyres = knackered rear suspension linkage = making bad noises body panels = various cracks, scrapes, been droped on LHS with bits broken off screen and generally neglected charging system = dead overall = very run down it is amazing how this bike was transformed in such a short period of time brought as spares or repair A month later back on the road and very pretty it looks too... still does what it should do and went off the clock prone…

Hello fellow biker buddies, Im currently rating my recent purchase of an immaculate 95 FZR600R, but slating the pants weather battering Blighty at the mo. Just a bit of dry will do, dont mind the cold. Had a lil blast on saturday when I picked it up from previous owner, but thats all so far. Im looking forward to a few rides out with friends. This is my first big bike, have road a bandit, a gs500 and a Gladius in training but theres no way they measure up to my FZR. I was actualy on the lookout for a CBR 6OO F4 but got an offer I couldn't refuse an so it begins....

Hi, I have a 1994 FZR600R with a noisy stubby Micron can. The part number for a standard can appears to be 3HH-14710-10-00, but there are a lot of cans which look identical from the early FZR's to the thundercat, would any of these be ok to fit? Any help appreciated.

Hi there, recently bought a fzs 600 fazer 1998. I'm having a problem with 3rd to 6th gear between 6 and 7000 rpm. When I'm in 3rd gear I can slowly excelerate through 6 and 7000 rpm but the bike splutters. The higher the gear the worse it seems to be. 6th gear struggles to get past 7000 rpm at all. Work carried out on bike recently, as follows: New downpipes, oil filter, oil, spark plugs, spark plug caps, fuel filter, fuel cleaner, air filter, new carb inlet rubbers, chain and spockets, carb's stripped / cleaned and reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated, starting to pull my hair out. Many Thanks

G'day all, I've been lurking around here for a while now so it's about time i did my intro seeing as i recently purchased a bike ( SR 250 ). I'm 53 years old, live in Melbourne Australia. Just getting back into motorcycling after approx 30 years. I've just replaced the exhaust on the bike with a much more free flowing unit which required a bit of adjustment to carby ( needle height ) however engine is still stalling when stopping with clutch in. I've decided to leave this as i've just pulled the clutch out as it is slipping. I know i shouldn't do an intro and ask questions at the same time, however i noticed when i drained the oil that it was filled with way mo…

New member from Australia (would you believe it?), and I'm looking at getting back into bikes, had a another brand of road bike, which I won't mention, and I'm not far off buying my mate's DT175 for $800AUD. Just came across the site looking for more info on the newer models, as we kept making them untill the late 90's if I recall. Anyway, I'll probably post a heap of help me topics when I actually get it, but I'll ask a few here now. The main one being, what oil do I run in it? I've grown up with chainsaws, so I know my way around 2 smokes, but autolubes are a new thing for me. I also want to jet it at some point, are jets readily available, any recommendations for j…

Just being polite and posting my first missive here. I'm in the process of trying to get a 1966 YL1 twinjet back on the road, so any help with parts sources would be much appreciated. After that there is the 1975 DT400 (twinshock) meccano kit under the bench. I won't mention the '81 Bonnie I'm building as a cafe racer, and the 1972 LWB Land-Rover that is supposed to be being converted to a camper. Should you think I'm a total luddite, I've got an 07 KTM 950 supermoto for my daily ride at the moment. What else do you want to know? I used to be a welder, but now I'm an anaesthetic nurse. My wife got me a job in theatres during a spell of unemployment, and its an i…

Well as of last night I picked up another bike. I've never had a yamaha but the price was right, and it's a goer!! So sitting in my garage is a 1980 AG 100 2 stroke. It's in not too bad a nick, and want to morph it into a little cafe racer screamer. Has anyone tried this before, or even to hot up one of these little rippa's?? I'll post a pic soon, but just thought I'd say G'Day. Cheers, Scott.
