Looking For Parts and info on servicing

  2. Started by stitch,

hi all, new to the group and have just acquired a 1998 yzf750 thats been sat for 4 years, pure nostalgia trip. going to get her back road ready for next spring, lots to do but starting at the front end. brake master and calipers cleaned and rebuilt with new seals and onto the front forks requiring a rebuild. so my first question ~ what weight fork oil to use, haynes manual says to use yamaha fork oil '01' which i've checked out to be 5w. this seems very light to me, what should i use 5w, 7.5w or 10w any help much appreciated. thanks mark.
