Hi all,new biker! Rescued a friends bike, needs a lot of t.l.c. Most things I will attempt myself e.g rear master cylinder but the missing speedo may prove a problem. Are they easy to come by and install? Seems a nice bike but don't want to spend too much all at once. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  8. Hey everyone, I was redirected to this page from my original question, I don't mean to spam or anything so please dont get offended. My original post was : My Yamaha (shaft drive) seems to have a strange problem that I noticed the other day, up til about 30 - 40 mph when i pull in the clutch i can feel this "dit-dit-dit" bumpiness the i THINK is coming from the front but resonates throughout the entire bike. It is very slight but so irritating, I took it to one garage they said it's fine, then another who removed the front wheel, re-did the inner tube alignment and added a weight to it .. but it's still there. I thought it may be the engine, so I turned the bike off …

  11. Started by FlyingOsca,

Good morning everybody. I am new to the Forum. I have owned my gorgeous Yamaha XVS650 Dragstar Trike for 3-4 years now and he is starting to look a little road weary. I have spent a lot of the winter giving him a makeover to get him ready for the summer which involved stripping him down, mudguards off, sand blasted, powder coated etc. When I took the front mudguard off I snapped both bolts in the front left fork that held the mudguard in place. I am no mechanic and don't have the first idea how to weld - even if I had the kit so I have made a temporary repair by drilling the old bolts out (hell of a job) and filling the holes with chemical metal, re drilling and…

Hi there! I don't really know how to start, so I guess i'll do it the way I learnt in second grade My name is Kristian, I'm 17 years old (and 10,5 months..... -.-), I live in Oslo, the capital of Norway and I ride a Yamaha YBR 125 2005 This is my first bike and it is by far the easiest bike I have tried - at least when it comes to handling. I have mainly used it to get myself to and from school, but also on shorter trips (50-100km, 30-60 miles) I would have tried to take it for a longer ride if I had the time and money.. Anyways, good to be her!

  14. Hi, I have a “08” Plate, Yamaha YBR125 bike which occasionally decides its going to play up! I will try to start it using the electric start & it fires up/turns over, but as soon as I put it into gear, the bike dies on me, & the battery warning light will flash for a few seconds. I will then try to re-start it by putting it back into neutral, followed by starting it by the electric start but again it fires up/turns over in neutral, but the second I put it into gear whether it be first gear or skipping directly to second gear the bikes dies on me. I have tried kick-starting it whilst its in gear but all I get is the flash of the battery light, but no firing…

  15. Hi, I came across this site while researching my dad's vintage Yamaha 100 YL-1, and was wondering if anyone might be able to provide a lead. My dad loved this bike and couldn't part with it even though it's been stored in the garage since he shipped it to the UK from Malaysia in 1968 (although I believe that he first registered it in Malaysia in 1966). It's in amazing condition considering it's been stored for the past 44 years!! Now the bike is in my possession and I would love to pass it on to an enthusiast to breath life into it again! Any ideas/ suggestions/ interest would be most gratefully received. I have photos but haven't worked out how to upload yet!

Hi. I'm Gemma, I'm trying to fire fight a problem with my husbands motorbike. I bought it for him as a birthday present but it doesn't run consistently and keeps randomly cutting out. The previous owner says the following about the bike: The solenoids were replaced as well as the ignition barrel to resolve a cutting out problem which turned out to be something to do with the alarm so then a new alarm was fitted and apparently the bike was fine... There does nit appear to be a pattern to the bike cutting out but it literally just randomly dies, when at high speed, slower speeds and even stationery but it immediately starts up again and rides then could be fine o…

Hi! I´m new in this forum. Just bought Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat -97 with 42000km on it about 6 weeks ago. Very well kept and taken care of. I have ordered new slip on and better mirrors for it. Love the bike, but now I need a little bit of help. I bought soft saddle bags for the bike. Richa Twin: https://www.motonet.fi/fi/tuote/3826...ut-mustaharmaa and I have a problem. How do it assemble those to my bike that way that those stay on and dont fly away on higher speed? Also I would like to assemble bags comfortable enough for a passenger too. Is that even possible? Hope somebody can help me...
