Hi, Have just got a 175C (white tank/red stripe), need some help please, Does anyone know if an exhaust P/N 437-14753-02-00 will fit the above bike? Some people say yes others say it will only fit the 175A or B models - I thought basically all three were the same? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone I am a 40 something from the Eden valley in Cumbria, UK with a 1981 DT175 MX in white, which I have had since 1991. It is quite a high miler with just over 50,000 on the clock (dry miles only for the last 20 years or so). I don't use it that often now, and I usually have a bit of a laugh with the MOT tester about the pitifully low increase in miles since the previous years test. Previous bikes include a 1974 FS1-E in purple, a 1983 Kawasaki AR50 in black, a 1980 Suzuki GP100, a 1982 RD350LC in black, a road legal TY175 in white, can't remember the year of the TY. Wish I still had most of them, especially the FS1-E and the RD350LC. When I got my cur…

I've owned my 1979 rare(ish) yamaha engined BSA Tracker since 1985. The bike was layed up in 1993. During recommissioning just now I found there is no spark (despite their being one there in 2008 when I rode it briefly around the drive). Anyway, I'm looking forward to riding the beast again soon and possibly doing some LDT's in the Somerset area. If there are any other enthusiasts out there local to Somerset please get in touch. Inserting an image URL of the bike is sadly beyond my capability or patience quotient.

Hi all been lurking round here for a while now and think it's time to introduce myself. Located in Cheshire not far from J16 M6. Had a few Yams started on a M reg Fizzy in 78 then a very brief 6 weeks with a Superdream ( long story) Sold that and bought a DT 175MX T reg. Sold that and graduated into cars, college etc. Found my way back into bikes in the 80's and bought a DT again to race in enduro style events in the late 80's down in Coventry. They were on a short circuit but did last for 2 hours. Put that bike back to standard minus indicators and sold it. Later I had a TRX850 from new and sold it a couple of years ago after my wife dropped a h…

Hi there folks New Chap on the forum here. I have a DT175MX (1979) project I'm starting soon with a mate (who bought it as a reminder of his misspent youth !). He stripped it down a few years back full of enthusiasm etc. The fork stanchions were then sent away to be re chromed and the guy promptly went out of business and thats the last we ever saw of them ! Other than that it's complete - we think ... - and we now have a lovely refinished frame and swing arm to start hanging some bits off. So I'll be using this rather excellent forum for help and advice if that's ok ? Cheers folks. Dave

Hi all Rebuilding 1977-78 DT400E this is the USA version of MX' got to the stage of setting oil pump and carb, Regarding the pump everything I've read says hold throttle open and adjust cable to line up mark on pulley adjuster with pin there is no way this will turn enough to line up? although there is another mark which I can line up with throttle closed? Regarding the carb undo sight plug and adjust cble so you can just see mark on the slide, no chance, The difference with this model is that there is a plastic connector joining the throttle cable to the carb cable and oil pump cable? Any help greatly appreciated

Just picked up a sweet 1988 DT50. I have been looking for a bike like this for about 4 months now and I picked this one up as soon as it was listed. It runs great, may need a bit of carb work and the wiring is nonfunctional but its perfect for my purposes, no need for registration or insurance! NOW FOR PICS!

i understand the power valve and how it works but i have read that there are restrictions in the power valve system in my model , my range were apparantly the first ones to come with a fully working power valve but pin it either open or closed and where the power valve stops working at a certain rpm, i have noticed on mine that it seems to sort of build up slowly, unless you rag it obviously, if im in too high of a gear just to give me more time to observe , it sort of pulls nicely but at low revs , slowly building up, where u get a sudden burst of power , but then if u keep trying to push the gear further revving more it loses power, surrely it should keep the power u…
