I am looking to buy a nearly new xj6 Diversion and have seen two that take my fancy. One was manufactured in 2009, registeted in 2011 and has done 2,250 miles; the other was made in 2010, registered the same year but done 7,500 miles. I know the model was updated in 2010 but I don't know by what. I would be grateful for any opinions from members. Thanks Matt

Hi all, Been lurking here for a couple of days, figure I should introduce myself :-) I am Johnny from N.Ireland. Passed my A2 test last month and have treated myself to a shiny new XJ6 Diversion, which I collected on Thursday. Hoping to do a tour of UK or Ireland during the Summer so any suggestions are very welcome! Best, Johnny

Just thought I would say hi, I have just been given a j reg xj600. It's been sat in a garage for 16 years, and hasn't been started for over six. It's all there, and in pretty good condition apart from the tank which looks like something has been dropped on it from a great height. Plan on seeing if I can fire it up tomorrow, so I might be back with some questions soon. Cheers, Colin

I am thinking of changing the exhaust to a 4 into 1 for my 1997 XJ 900 Diversion. Has anyone done this and if so, was there any improvement in performance? Hard to improve perfection I know! Thanks, Ben

Hello Fellow Bikers. Can anybody tell me if there is any differance in the running gear/electrics etc between a 1990 xj900f & a 1994 xj900f.The reason behind my Question is that iv'e just bought a 1990 xj900 bobber project but the engine is scrap very low compression on 3 cylinders. Not the end of the world as the frame has been superbly chopped & there are some great machined parts. So my idea is to buy a 93/94 pre-diversion & use all the good bits.but not sure if the parts are interchangeable.Any info would be fantastic. Also if anyone out there has a complete (must be tidy & mint running) xj900 for sale please let me know.Regards Mark.

  12. Started by roversrov,

Hi, I bought a well cared for 1991 XJ900F a couple of months ago and I was very pleased with it but found the clutch very heavy and tiring to use, the cable looked original and felt stiff so I decided to replace it as a matter of course; the start of my problems! Finding neutral became tricky and acting on advice from the seller decided to clean the clutch plates, they looked OK flat with no warping and within manufacturers tolerances for thickness. On re-assembly engaging 1st gear stalled the engine with excessive drag. I replaced the clutch friction and plain plates with new just in case there was a problem I had not spotted but the same thing again excessive clutch …

Hi everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. Just bought an 82' XS 250 not starting so will be asking lots of questions soon. Once I get it running I hope to clean it up and get it into some sort of reasonable shape. My first ever bike was a XS 500 and that was 30 years ago, so just dipping my feet into the water again as regards bikes. Cheers.
