Apparently I've been a member since 2010, but not been active in ages on account of my bike being on a bit of a back-burner... which might explain why it looks like I've not posted anything on here ever (was there some kind of clear-out or purge of threads whilst I was away?). So yeah, I'm Blam, I'm 32, and I'm an alcoholic from Essex. I've got a XVS650 V-Star. I think it's some kind of special 'Midnight' edition as there's a lot of stock-parts painted metallic black, so I've been systematically replacing, repainting, or covering the chrome with black to match it. I'll stick up pictures at some point. :-)

Yes it looks exactley the same but half the size. 3 pins at the back. I have my yammy now for a year and didnt think FZR spares are so scarce in SA.

I know its not the best choice of motorcycle for a newbie but it came at a perfect price with 8500 miles on the clock full service history from a family friend. was to much to turn down, even if I don't get on with the bike ill make money on it if not break even. sensible young lad anyways and will be taking it slow, its about the freedom and lifestyle for me not the young imm…

  10. Hi there I've had my 1994 import sr250 for about 2 weeks and changed the oil last night. When I was riding her home twice she lost power and felt like she was coasting! Is this anything to do with oil change? Thanks guys :-)

  11. Hi all, new to the forum, I have a 2003 SR250 and it definitely needs some TLC,and it seems like a good/simple bike to come to grips with the mechanical side of things. I do need a little help (particularly in hunting down a 2002/2003 manual), take a look here! Cheers, Sir B.

Just bought a 1980 SR250. I love it and I have a lot of plans for it. I decided to join because it ran great right up until 3 days after I bought it, and then it started to cut out It would basically feel like I was running out of gas and it would sputter out, but then restart afterwords. Anyways, the last time this happened, it just wouldn't start up again. I checked, and it has spark, it has fuel, and it's sucking in air with a clean filter, so what's my problem? I took a look in the carb and everything is really clean. It turns over and I can hear a little combustion but is just wont run. Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi all,i don't want to go to the expense of buying new exhausts I wondered if it's possible to modify the standard ones? ie baffles and internal mods to give it a bit more of a growl without affecting engine setup etc.Cheers in advance.

hiii everyone...this is regarding my yamaha r1 08 starting problem. My dealer Warranty is officially over, but i was wondering if there is any recalls of the bike having trouble starting.i wash my bike last week and for the past 3 days when i start my bike it turns on for about 1/2 a second then turns off. I tried holding the throttle to about 7000 rpm's then I let it go and bike stalls. The only way the bike will stay on if I hold the throttle for a good 10- 15 seconds. The bike is very random sometimes it will turn on and stay on when its cold or hot, but sometimes even if its hot is just stalls right away. Just wondering if i can get any info before I take it to the d…

Hey guys, new to the forum, and I have a question. I'm working on a 2000 WR 400 and it's simply not turning over. I've changed the gas, and spark plug on it (thank you Yamaha for the hardest plug in the world to remove,) but still no fire. Now I know that its getting air, and everything mechanical is working properly because it "turns over" when you kick it. So I'm thinking its electrical. Is there any way for me to check the ignition coil(?)? Some basic info, bikes had one owner, and has mostly storage time. Low low low riding hours sense it was bought. I know its not the best on them, but I've even tried the rolling start for it, and nothing. Any help would be GREATLY a…

Greetings from Warsaw, Poland. Lived here 18 years now. Have dreamed of a Harley or something Harley-like ever since hitting my mid-life crisis some 15 years ago, then filed it under 'impossible dream' and left it there till last August. The Polish government passed a law allowing all drivers with normal car licence (Cat.B) ride a motorbike of up to 125cc/15BHP. GREAT! So I bought a bike to learn on (Derbi CrossCity 125 which I highly recommend once it has a decent set of dual-sport tyres on it), with the ambition of doing a full Cat. A course and test. Anyway - this summer I went to a local driving school, which said fine, but you need a medical check. No problems - I'm …
