Hi all, I recently aquired an XJ900F, 1990, 'basket case'. An old boy had it for years, fell off it and threw it in the corner of his shed, 4 yrs later its in mine! New battery, cleaned carbs/tank, bit of redex and it's running, even ticking over. Have welded the frame where it needed it, 'hammerite'd' most it, (frame), and cleaned up the shiny bits. Electrics were a mare, found the 2 auxilary wires had broken inside the ignition switch! All now fixed and everything works. Last thing is the brakes..................all pistons seized badly. Doubt a seal kit would do it, so my questioon is, does anyone know if the calipers from a later diversion would fit? …

Hi all. New member from Nottingham. I bought my XV950R as my first bike just under a year ago. Currently looking into my options around replacing the lumpy stock exhaust with something a little more.... fitting. I guess I should probably sidle off to the dark corner with the other Cruisers now eh? 😉

Hey guys. Name's Gaz and I'm from Melton Mowbray. Have been riding a '98 Thundercat for the last coupla years, but the riding position is starting to get a bit too uncomfortable for my back. So I went and chopped it in for an '07 XVS1300 Midnight Star in black that I'm picking up next week. My first cruiser-type bike and I can't wait, lol. It's got short (and loud) Cobra exhausts and a sissy pad for the wife. Should be great fun and much better on the back.

Hello everyone!! My name is Ayrton Niall Lambird, named after the F1 Legend Ayrton Senna, and aslo after Niall Mackenzie who won the British Superbike Championship three times from 1996 to 1998. I've been riding bikes since the age of 16, I started off riding a moped - Yamaha Aerox YQ50 which I loved riding around.. throughout the years I've gone up to a Yamaha YZF R125 which is pretty quick! I'm currently in the process off getting ready to do my full bike test, fingers cross I'll pass B-) After I pass, I'm looking at getting a Yamaha YZF R6 -- Aside from riding my bike, I'm a Manager and Personal Trainer of a Leisure Centre in Meopham, Kent. Hi Everyone, I, too, am a new Yamaha owner and just returning to riding after a lengthy absence (25 years). I just purchased the Yamaha Fazer8 a week ago and love it but I do have a couple of questions. There doesn't appear to be anywhere to lock my helmet on the bike so I gather there isn't one but am I just missing it? Also, I am looking into adding handlebar risers, has anyone else added these? Is it more comfortable on the wrists? Any other helpful hints are always appreciated. Looking forward to reading all the posts. Gwyneth

Good morning/afternoon/evening/Beer:30 to you all out there. A little over a month ago, I purchased my very first motorcycle in over 8 years, my brand-new from the showroom flow, FZ8. It is such a thrill to be back in the saddle again, and I look forward to being able to meet other riders out there.

Hi everyone, I went travelling in India a couple years ago and rented bikes multiple times, and despite the dubious condition of many of them, I have wanted to get a bike ever since I got back. Finally this summer I have had the money and time to buy a bike and fix it up. I got a 1981 SR250 in pretty good condition and have been learning to fix it up, which has been a lot of fun (and money). So far I've just opened up the engine and replaced a cracked valve and the gaskets, and am going to do some de-rusting and general cleaning up. I also have to get my motorbike licence... all in good time. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello forum friends. I've recently purchased a 1984 Yamaha v80 as my first bike and I'm attending motorbike evening classes in the hope to tinker and bring her back to her once former self. I rode her to work on Sunday in London Town - about three miles and back, think my top speed was 25mph (I know she can go faster in just still getting used it being on two wheels). But minutes before we reached those heady high speeds she did start to feel a bit sluggish. I got to a mini roundabout and she conked out. I kick started her back straight away and we went onwards. So I'm wondering what I should be looking for? Old battery? She was a barn find. Ratio of fue…

Hi everyone Just bought myself a Yamaha xj600 Pre diversion for £400, been sitting for 2 years but everything seems to work well. Going to give it a service and see if I can get an MOT on it. It needs a new seat, and its also got a dent in the fuel tank, anyone have any ideas of how to get a dent like this out? I saw on you tube someone got a pump up blood pressure monitor and put it in the tank, pumped it up and popped it out! On the road it is very comfortable, I live in London and my travel is around central London area and so far I have found it very easy to filter and control. I would be intrested to know how many of XV950 owners are here as I haven't seen many on the road .. well to be honest I haven't seen any
