Greetings, I am new to Y.O.C. and I have recently acquired 2 1981 LB50PH Chappys. Both are still in good condition one runs ok the other has some big problems. I am looking to get these things running up to par myself to save some money. I know these bikes are slow to begin with but right now I have one bike running at about 22 mph tops. The other bike I can hardly get it up to 15. Anyone have any tips or things I should be doing to get them to run smoother and faster? From the research I've already done these bikes should hit 30 mph no problem. Like I said this is all new to me so any tips, pointers, or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there, Just a quick post to introduce myself. I have owned a Yamaha XVS 125 Drag star for 2 years. It has been in storage for a year now but i have got it back out and into a motorcycle garage to get it up and running again (hopefully good to go by tonight). I've signed up to the sight for a few reasons: Help with any mechanical issues, To give the benefit of my limited experience to whomever wants it and to get a bit of inspiration for modding the bike. On the 1st reason i would like to ask if anyone has access to a electronic version of a workshop manual for an XVS 125 Drag star? Once i get it back from the garage i would like to keep on top of keeping i…

Hello All, Just joined the forum hoping to get some help with my bike. I am from Colorado, USA. I just got a 1981 DT175 that I was told ran for a while, but stopped running so it was left sitting for around two years. So far I have re-lined the gas tank (was really nasty). Put a new Carb on it. Checked the Coil. The trouble I have found is that I am not getting any spark. I have traced down voltage to the Rectifier and found that it was not letting any juice through. But from what I have heard, it should start w/o the rectifier. Could anyone give me some ideas of where to look next for why I am not getting any spark? Thanks, Jesse Zacher

Hi all, Just to introduce myself, i’m Dill. Got my first bike back this March, current year R125. I got into motorcycling pretty late at the age of 26, always wanted a bike but just never got around to purchasing one until now. Mainly use it for commuting to and from work, and the occasional run down some A roads! Really fun little bike considering it’s only a 125, but great to learn on. Will eventually go for an R6 once I’ve had some training on the track as I’d like to start learning how to handle a bike around the track. Thanks for having me! 🙂

Hello folks. Picked up my 7th Yam last month and joined the Yamaha club tonight. Present bike is a TZR 50 rescued from under a pile of crap in some blokes garage. MOT failed today on the drive chain being too tight, a first for me but in all honesty it was the correct call by the garage. Sprocket set bought on ebay was 3 links too short! Live and learn. Just dropped a fix for the wee bikes digital speedo repair in the garage forum. Hope it will be of use to someone. Tuesday

Hi, I'm steve and just signed up. Just got myself a dt250c 1976 USA bike to add to the collection. It's in good nick for 41. Looks in better shape than me and I'm only 5 years older. I'm in essex.... Saafend to be precise. Only lived here 3 months. Warwickshire boy before. Just need a bit of help in finding a couple of spares. Had many RD350's in my time but only one dt250. American to boot so I guess bits will be harder to come by. Need a a pair of rear shocks. The ones with the fake chunk of ribbed cylinder if possible to keep it original. If not I'll pop some 12" ones on and get the proper ones as and when. Thanks steve

Just wanted to write a little introduction for you all. My names josh and last year I purchased my first bike; an xvs 650. I made a large amount of progress and had just begun to hardtail and convert it to single back bone. However unfortunately it burnt down along with all my equipment. So now I have begun the task of rebuilding it from the ashes. My engine is going off for powder blasting this week and I'm going to continue on the frame. Unfortunately a lot of my parts were destroyed or crushed by the rood of the building it was in so I need a little bit of help finding a rear wheel and any information of what other front ends fit. I will post in the proper sectio…

Hi, I have just realised I've been extremely rude and not introduced myself yet. I'm new to the forums and to Y.O.C. I recently purchased a Yamaha XVS1100 V Star. The bike is an import from the USA. Loving it so far. A few years ago I owned a Bulldog 1100cc which was also a great fun bike. No doubt as time goes by I will have a lot of questions, so be prepared😁. I've found lots of interesting and useful discussions so far having only tickled the tip of the iceberg. Cheers for now FishPig aka Kevin Kelly
