Hello people! Been around motorcycles for about 50 years now. Early on I rode "OP's" (Other People's) as my Dad, as a young man, had a bad accident on a Cushman scooter (he woke up staring at an engine oil pan). He announced, "No motorcycles under my roof!" So, I didn't get my own bike, a used 1970 DT250, until I was 21, well after I established my independence. I've had 15 motorcycles over the years (4 Yammers, 3 Geese, 3 Beemers, 1 Bultaco Frontera, 1 Royal Enfield, 1 Korean scooter, 1 French Scorpa trials, and a Ural sidehack. Currently, I have five motorcycles under MY roof! (Note to Dad...;-) 2005 Moto Guzzi 750 Breva, 2015 Ural cT, …

Hi guys and girls. I'm Chris. I'm a welder fabricator by trade and have just started riding on two wheels again. I used to race quads but now I've decided to get my full bike license and have some fun. Couldn't resist a lovely little dragstar 125 to get used to it again. Already wanting more power but she'll do for now. Cheers Chris

Hi all, as this place appears to come highly regarded for Yam owners, I thought I'd sign up I picked up an XJ6 on an 2009 plate with a genuine 7400 miles on the clock and it was one lady owner as well! true that, its says so in the logbook. Anyways, I'm an old fart, be 60 in Oct, been riding since I was 16, had bucketloads of bikes, learnt a thing or two along the way. Already had to crank the rear shock up to max, fit bar risers to aid comfort, fitted a rack so I can get a topbox sorted. I ride all year round so the XJ6 appears to be the perfect tool for the job. Hopefully be able to spend some time here.

  11. About to buy a 1980 Yamaha DT175 from one of my best friends. I am just waiting for him to replace the clutch and get my license. I am really excited and nervous as I have never ridden a motorcycle before so I am going to take a certification course. The DT 175 should be perfect for me as I am 5'4" with a 26in inseam and will be using it to ride around San Francisco as well as occasional off-roading trips. The bike runs great despite the clutch but I do plan on fixing her up as I am able. Good to find a great community like this to learn from. Cheers!

Hello all, Joined the forum looking forward to seeing everyone's projects and hopefully learning a lot, A few months back I picked up a 69 Yl-1 and I have been spending my spare time bringing it back to life. Lots of blood and sweat but that's what it all about. Have a question or two, but I'll save that for the correct thread!

Hey all, forgot to introduce myself on here after I joined up yesterday to ask some questions regarding my new Yamaha purchase. I live in in the Canadian Rockies in Alberta, Canada but grew up in Ontario about an hours drive from the big city of Toronto. I am not new to Yamaha, back in ON I had a 2000 Red and White Yamaha R6 and a 2001 Yamaha SXR600 snowmobile. I just purchased a 1980 DT175 because I have just had an itch to get back on two wheels but don't have the funds for anything new as I just started a family and purchased a project house. Oh ya, I also picked up an '81 PW50 and an '84 PW80 last summer that I am looking forward to restoring with my son who …

Hi folks. I recently purchased a 2007 V Star 1300. I presently ride a GL1800 Goldwing. The V Star will be my wife's ride, however, anyone who's wife rides knows who does the maintenance on the bike. This is the first Yamaha either of us has owned and so far I am impressed. I hope to be able to both give and receive valuable information from this forum. Safe riding all.

Hi All. I 'm a new member in Perth Western Australia. I 'm a bloke in his 50's who loves a beer and runs 2 older dual purpose bikes (BMW R1100GS and 2002 DT 175) and an ancient Landrover. I WILL ask lots of stupid questions. My main aim in joining is for technical support, as I know forums like this have members with a wealth of knowledge. I also aim to contribute and will post details and photos of any jobs I do and explain exactly how I fixed it. All the best and look forward to talking to you all. Regards.

Hello fellow Yamaha owners, i'm Kryz living in Sheffield but originally from Gravesend Kent. i am in particular interested in any XJ900f and trike related topics. I have a 1956 trike with a XJ900F engine fitted but have some starting/running issues. I have been building this up over the last 5 years since having a Stroke. I have also accumulated a couple of spare bikes and other parts as the trike originally was built around a XJ, however only the engine and associated parts and front wheel remain so most of my spare bikes parts are not required. I am also interested in hearing from anyone who has Steampunked their ride. i will be asking for help with my en…
