New member from Jersey, Channel Islands (old Jersey, not new), I have a 2009 YBR125, which I have ridden for the last 2 years or so. Yesterday I had a bike to ground interface, which resulted in a need for a replacement front mudguard (easy and cheap) and instrument console - the back casing is mashed and the glass on the speedo has broken. Now... BrooksBarns have a speedo for a 2005/6 YBR on their site for about £34. Looking on the Yamaha parts finder it would appear that some of the internals have different part codes than for the 2007-2009 model, but are they still compatible? I have seen kph ones on fleabay for around £45 but I would rather have one that is i…

Hi guys and girls, hope everyone's ok, keeping safe and only getting dry tarmac I'm going to trouble you nice people with a random one - security while riding. Getting by CBT done at the end of April (depending on the lockdown restrictions of course) and looking to get a 2021 NMAX 125 for commuting twice a week from Richmond to South Quay. The thing that worries me a bit is the increase in moped gangs targeting moped riders and motorcyclist in general - is this a thing, have you come across situations like this and how to deal with them? I'm talking here about two scumbags on a scooter, blocking your way and trying to take your bike. The 2021 NMAX…

Hey guys, I have been riding Yamaha's all my life, street legal bikes now for 2 seasons. I have logged some 14,000 miles in that time ( only 4,000 this season ) I ride a 1985 Virago XV-700, its a V-Twin, shaft drive cruiser style bike. I have done some work to her in the past 2 years since i got her. It was really rough at first, i have had it painted, new drag pipes installed, new mirrors and data clusters, new tires, the seat recovered, and a few new electronic components. I prefer my yamaha over any hurley davidson any day. She's got enough power to handle any riding situation, but doesnt go through a gallon of oil every other week. Nor does it vibrate to …

To be honest I signed up on this forum some time ago but only just got round to an introduction. Bit of a Yamaha fanatic, currently got an 05 R1, 16 MT-09 and picking up a 14 XVS950A Midnight Star on the weekend, had one before the MT and really missed it so just got a very low mileage one. Have several other bikes an 80 Honda CB250NA Superdream, 82 Honda CB750KZ, 84 Honda CB750FD, 75 Suzuki GT550L and 83 Suzuki GS750S1 Katana.

Hello all. New member with a new to me 2013 Vstar 650 Custom. Older guy with a 98 Gold wing Gl1500 that I am converting to a trike. Still wanted to stay on 2 wheels sometimes and I am thrilled with my Vstar that I've put about 500 miles on in the 5 weeks I've owned it.

I've owned many Yamahas, all strokers. It started with the LC in the early 80's and continued through the RZs and TZR bikes and won't go away. Currently I only have two Yammies, both undergoing rebuilds: An RZ/Banshee hybrid A DT400 restomod Crazy

Good Morning. I am not new to dirt bikes but I am new to Yamaha. I just rescued a 1980 DT125 and I am going to try and get it going for my son. It looks like someone has pulled some parts off of it so I will have to figure out how it was originally set up. Thanks for any help going forward!! Jason PA

Hi all, my name is Nathan, just snagged an '82 Yamaha XJ 550 Maxim, it's a blast. Having a little trouble, but hopefully I'll figure it out - shifter stuff. If you have any pointers, I'd love to hear your input. I've wanted to ride since I was a little kid, I always thought there must be something remarkably freeing about riding on a sunny day. Over the past few days, I've had these beliefs reaffirmed. My inner 12 year old is ecstatic. I'm really looking forward to getting to know more about bikes, maybe meet up with some people in my area for rides once I get better. Have a great day all!

Hello! I've recently returned to riding after a break of around 7 years (picked up the new bike on the 12th). I've previously owned a CBR125R, a Yamaha Fazer (the old twin flora pot headlights style) and a Honda CBR 600F. I've just bought myself a new Yamaha MT-09 Tracer which I've spent some good time on already getting used to being back on two wheels. Taking it easy as I run the engine in and re-familiarise myself for now Unexpected expense on some new bits since I have lost weight since I last rode, so a new set of leathers (I've put my old ones up for sale) and will need some new textiles too as those are too big as well. Can't find my cold weather gloves and I …

Hi all, My names Ben, 26 from Gippsland and i've joined here for somewhat selfish reason I suppose. Im wrecking a Thunderace out so I can put the engine in a quad bike and essentially build myself a Yamaha 1000cc "Quadzilla". If im welcome to, i'd like to a post up in the for-sale section for the bike parts, but for the most part i'll use the forum to document my build log here as it's technically going to be a Yamaha bike. If im not welcome, or im on the wrong section of forum then please let me know. I only want to do what is polite and fair by everyone. Ben.
