Hi everyone , I'm Kevin . Longtime courier/despatch rider , I'm 44 riding since 17 , picked up a 4yr ban 5yrs ago (in a car) and I'm making some shapes about getting back on the road . I got rid of my trusty CB500 when I got nailed . So with my options limited by my ahem, limited means I have decided to resurrect the 1982 350 LC that has been lurking around in various locations in the folks garage for the last 10yrs or so . I had given my bro a tuned but tatty German import LC which I got as a part ex for another bike (Jeebus , but that German thing could move ) . He bought another LC to use as a parts donor but after riding it home discovered that everything on it w…

Evening all - new member here, had my current FJ1200 since new in '89 (got first in '86) and had a 2nd FJ 1200 (that ended up a race bike) between '94 and '09. First Yam was my FS1E in '76. My wife got her first Yam in '03 - her Fazer 1000 - which she still has and loves. Here she is with both bikes in '04 ready for family Europen tour (with our sons aged 9 & 14) In early 2011 when our youngest was 17yrs and 3 months old, he passed his bike test - and there was only one bike he/we considered - a pre '04 Fazer 600 - comfort, style, reliability, everything except 33 bhp - but a kit soon sorted that. The restrictors has just been removed and he's now enjoying f…

Just thought i would be polite and say hi! I ride a 2009 YBR 125 on the road and a 1989 Yz 80 off the road, never the other way around i promise . I am 17 and a junior IT Technician from Kent. I have only been riding on the road for 5 or so months therefor i still have a lot to learn however i have already grasped the fact that majority of the road users in this country are blind, inconsiderate and a danger to motorcyclists.

Hello, Just joined after buying a Yamaha Enticer (Indian made 125cc easy rider type) and am trying to both understand the bike and source spares. Indian spares don't seem to be as long lasting as Jap ones and I'm looking for:- 1) Rear light cover 2) Front drive sprocket 3) Side panel (covers battery etc) 4) Drive shaft oil seal I'm sure I will find a few other bits to replace but would love to know where I can buy bits either from a source here or in India?? or if anyone is breaking one fpr spares. Thanks Barry

Hello to everyone, My name is Nick and live in West London. I have been riding bikes of all types since 1978 and have just purchased a DT175 for a trip down 'memory lane'. Because of this purchase I figured I would join this forum for some like-minded people and some helpful advice. The little Yam was registered in 1979 and has a tubular monoshock swingarm not the box-section item - does that make it an 'E' or an MX? The previous owner did some restoration/overhaul work; rebore, new headlamp, some new wiring, taper head bearings/wheel bearings, spark plug, engine oil, fork oil, clutch cable, new inner tubes etc. I will put a picture of it on here soon. I inten…

Hi all I am a born again biker after a gap of 20 years and decided now would be a good time to buy a FZR600, so I decided on buying a cheap 1989 model so its not new but quite a lot of work in progress but I like to tinker :-) , but the only real issue I have at the moment is the clutch if you pull away at very low revs IE tick-over its great but if you try this at 2000rpm + it just grabs launches the bike then the revs drop the clutch releases the revs rise it grabs again in a vicious circle and you go off down the road kangaroo style ,I thought it was me but several people have tried but the beast cannot be tamed any Ideas what I need to look at first? Kevin UK 50+ b…

Hi all, I've just joined having recently bought an SR500. I had one twenty years ago but let it go cheap for the usual reasons i.e. wife and kids so this one's my middle age crisis. I also had an RD250LC when they first came out. I'll be on here to pick a few people's brains regarding running the SR. The first thing I need to know is is it OK to run the SR on unleaded petrol? I'm from the UK by the way.

Hi Everyone! I'm a new member from Southeast London and ride a 2003 SR 125 (a very pretty red one ) I've been lurking on this forum for the past year or so for the words of wisdom (you guys are great!) but alas! I have somehow buggered the bike and thought it's time i step into the light. I'll post the actual problem in the workshop section but just thought i'd finally say hey! HEY! Jason

Hi to all members, I recently passed my das in August and got myself an xj600 s diversion 94 plate as my first bike, it's not running at mo but it's a good project with only 14000 miles on clock, on the right hand side of bike on the end of the crankshaft is a round black cap/seal in the centre of the crankshaft housing. My one is leaking oil and is not sealed, I've tried findin a spare on the net but no sign of anything like it, so I would like some info on whether I can get a new one or the best way to seal it back in. Many thanks

Firstly just wanted to say hello! I've just bought a brand new, shiny red YBR 125, and already love it! The only problem I'm finding is places to go in or around Birmingham, UK, without just aimlessly riding! I'd like to maybe go to a couple of the local bike meets, but wondered how I'd be received on my 'baby' bike with L plates! Any advice will be very much welcome on any aspect of riding, but very much looking forward to the social aspect of riding :-D Also I am female so any female advice on the biking world also gratefully received!
