Good morning I'm totally new to this fantastic hobbie/way of life. Only passed my CBT a fortnight ago and ended up seeing a bargain on a custom ybr 2009 which was to silly to ignore. Runs perfect but needs sprucing up cosmetically. Little about me I'm 28 Ex soldier now work primarily driving ambulances so have plenty of experience on the road. Currently live in Skipton,UK but moving closer to Keighley for a bigger home hence buying the bike as a commuter mainly. I have three kids and an amazing wife don't know how she puts up with me. Hoping to stick around ,meet some peeps and pick some brains.

After years of commuting on bikes including a TDM900, retirement and an arthritic thumb dictates a twist and go. Waiting for the new Tmax so bought a Xmax 400 in the meantime. Very impressed after a two and a half hour ride home. Very comfortable and to be honest I don't need to go more than 70mph, which it is very capable of.

Hi, just introducing myself.. I bought a second-hand XJR 1300 (2007 model, fuel injected) recently. Have joined this bought because I'm a little nervous about how the bike is running.. Seems very uneven, like one of the four cylinders is out of tune.. despite just having Yamaha sync the throttle bodies. But anyway, I'll go post in a technical section. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing.. but my SV650 and Hornet never ran this roughly. Apart from that, am liking the bike though!

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!…

  7. Right fellas I've had a 1991 XJ600 since 2006 for going to work, done 10000miles a year for last 4 and a bit years, but 20years and 70000 miles is to old for me. I've done nearly all the servicing, including changing an engine, forks, momnshock, balancing carbs, changing valve shims, so I'm not scared of getting my hands dirty, or trying new things. I wanted a BMW K75 and am still watching fleabay, but have bought a 1994 XJ600S, listed with 'struggles to get past 60mph', bought it Saturday. Has Renthall bars that clash with fairing. If you were one of the 15 people who made him an offer, this may be interesting reading Originally thought fuel-air mixture wrong. …

  11. Hello brand new member here. I have a total of 8 hours on a bike in a parking lot and just bought my first bike, 1979 Yamaha DT175, No idea about the Mx or not. It's looks good to my eye but right now it's the prettiest thing so I'm biased. I'll be scanning the forums for knowledge and hope to pick a brain or two. Never have worked on a bike but have on cars so all pretty new. Thanks for having this club I could join!

Hi All! I literally picked up my new YBR Custom 125CC the Saturday just gone and am absolutely loving it..... I'm actually obsessed with it. This will hopefully be my commuter bike into London each day (30 mile round trip) and will save me a bomb against train fairs! I've taken her for a few rides around town and am in Looooooooove! I'm so glad I chose the Custom model over the standard. I look forward to chatting to you all and becoming a pro! (..... that may take some time ) Now.... I won't lie, I am as capable on how to fix/repair a motorcycle as baby is a doing backflips... I want and need this to change. I've already learned how to pop the indicator ligh…

Hi everyone I've just broken a 80's dt50mx sorry don't know the year, the frame was knackered so all the parts are up for grabs. I haven't run the engine as the float bowl was missing from the carb lol but the engine turns over freely with good compression. Any of you require any parts just email me and I'll see what I've got. I'm in Scunthorpe Lincolnshire DN15 8HL Regards mark

Hi all. Newbie to the site. Only Yamahas I own (and have ever owned) are a couple YBRs. Had 4 over the past 12 years. Thought I'd join up and see what's going on in the YBR community (if there is one). Also own a 2007 Aprilia RSV1000R and a 1968 BSA Bantam D14. Hopefully a Husqvarna Vitpilen will be joining the garage soon. Photos below (if this works). Ade

Hi all - I'm new to this club. I’m riding a YBR since 2012 and like 'making good progress’ within the given limitations. I have a full licence, and have ridden bigger bikes, one of them a Divvy, but have now downsized. I’m a fit 78 (lots of cycling!), not looking for any kind of relationship except company on the road. October 04-14 would seem a good option to avoid the midges. Get in touch soon if you're interested!

  19. Hi, In my dotage I have decided to run a small 45 head of sheep in West Cumbria. I have purchased a 1995 or thereabaouts old banger Yamaha 350 4x4 quad to help me get around. I am trying to gain knowledeg on maintaining and running the quad. I last owned a motorbike in the early 60s so you will gather I am starting from a v low knowledge base. It starts and runs but I am in the process of tidying it up, including plastics and will replace all oils before putting it to work. I look forward to catching up on ideas and advise in this group. Regards quintain
