So I've been a 4 stroker for most of my life. BUT ... I got my MC License on a '72 Yamaha R5. A few weeks ago a rode a restored '72 Honda CB 350 over to my old neighbors who owned the R5 back in my teens (that was a while ago). anyway to make a long story short he still had the R5 and after looking at the restoration of the Honda he aksed if I'd like it. Well -*&^ - YES ! So I'll be picking it up soon and needing some help as I said I know 4 strokers - but not so much on 2 strokers

Hey everyone, I joined on here because I finally, FINALLY, got my old bike running good and am going to be looking up a lot of info about these things. (I don't know if this is all correct, please correct me if you see something) 1976? MX175 frame 1976? DT175 engine (supposedly built) 197x? YZ125 ignition system (CDI) 19xx? xx250 front forks Mikuni race carb, cone filter Race pipe (stupid loud lol) My neighbor bought it from a guy that had built it for vintage racing. The second year my neighbor pulled it out of the shed, it wouldn't start and he sold it to me for $100. Since that day, it's been nothing but headaches and cussing haha. It ba…

Hello all, new to the forum and thought this was a great place to start. Currently I do not own a Yamaha but am in the market for a project bike or possibly a project that could become my sport touring ride. I've owned RD's, RZ's, FZR's and R6's. Currently I own a Kawasaki 636 that is strictly a track day bike. I'm a product of the 80's and have fond memories of the Yamaha bikes from that era. I would love to restore an RZ 350 or FZ600, however they just might not be the best bikes for my goal of doing some sport touring. The RZ/FZ project might be better saved for the future. So, what I've been looking into is possibly an FZR 1000, FZ750, or YZF 750. All seem to be …

Hi, Just thought i'd introduce myself. Passed my full bike license last summer and bought a divvy which done me proud through the winter. Moved up to a fazer recently and loving it. Bike is my only mode of transport so i'm riding in all weathers, can't imagine going back to boring old cars. Anyway, looking forward to enjoying the chat on the forum. Thanks Kenny

Hey all, after a bit of a nightmare with a GSX-R750 IOM TT Edition I was meant to pick up yesterday, which was written off by the dealers mechanic on the test run, I put a deposit down on an 2009 (2008 model) R1 today, chuffed to say the least, it's absolutely stunning, hopefully will be picking it up this weekend, if all goes well! Added the bike here with some pics : My previous bike : Hopefully see more of me on the forum Paul.

I'm 24 soon and looking forward to getting my full license sorted. Working on a DT125LC at the moment and decided I'd jump on here where the pro's linger for when the going gets tough! Anyway just a brief hi really, good to get started! [Edit] - added a picture of myself working on the DT in my mums dining room. She was most impressed!

Hey all new guy here from Kansas, USA. I have a 1977 Yamaha Chappy LB80 that I just found in an old barn. I know it has been run within the past 2 years. In the process of cleaning it up I have found a hose that I am not sure where it connects into. It looks a vacuum hose coming from the top of the oil tank. I'll post a picture here in a little while. Thanks! Ryan

Hello people! I'm a male from Sweden, named Jesper, lives quite near Stockholm, the fabulous capital, sadly I'm only 17 years old but on my spare time I spend most of my time in front of my computer that I care about just like it would be my baby haha and training MMA too, but just been doing that for one week I'm not mechanic of myself so I will probably ask a lots of dumb questions that basic so you guys maybe Right now I'm studding to be a plumber(LOL), not the most fanciest work out there, but it's quite nice paycheck there each month, and I'm NOT crawling around in poop that some of you might think I will do haha. And to my other baby, a Yamaha DT…

Hi, Im Joe, I have always wanted to ride but just never made it a priority to ride. I have been an auto and truck mechanic for years. I thought I would have the time to restore this bike and honestly have had the time but ever since I learned how fast it would go, Im thinking its probably not a bike I should start out on. So, on to the bike, I really would like to learn more about it. Its a 1982 Yamaha XS1100. I can find info on 1981 Yamaha XS1100 but not much out there on this one. I know it needs carbs but im not motivated enough to spend the $800 on carbs then its been sitting for years, license plate says 2012. I got it from my uncle who ended up with it when a …
