Hi all Just brought myself a restoration project. Same model I had from new in 1981 XT250. Hell of a lot of work coming up but ive done a couple of different bikes before Suzuki T500J and a Bonneville T100 concourse. Both on youtube Ive still got that sick feeling and not sure if its excitement to start or worrying ill never finish it. Look forward to picking your brains when ive got my head round the bikes history. Goes without saying bits are scarce, so im up for anyone contacting me saying they got every bit i need cheers Mark

Hi, I'm new to biking.. just bought myself a 2014 YBR 125 and have covered 500 miles in a couple of weeks. Getting used to the bike now and really enjoying the freedom and fun it brings! I do have a slight problem though and was wondering if anyone could shed any light on it: The bike occasionally cuts out when I'm sat in traffic in 1st gear with the clutch in.. when this is the case, it coincides with the bike not wanting to go into neutral - the gear lever just won't budge. Anyone got any ideas what it might be? Cheers

Hi all, I have recently joined this group. I have ridden bikes since I was 16. I'm 66 now so a few years there. I also rode bikes for a living when I was with the Old Bill it was like being paid for a hobby. I live in Devon and since retiring I enjoy the coast roads of Devon & Cornwall. I now have a Yamaha FJR 1300AS. I also ride for Devon Freewheelers otherwise knows as Bloodbikes delivering urgent blood etc around the county.

Hi, I've been riding the last 2 years, first on a chinese disaster, then I got my Yamaha YBR 125, 08 plate. Lovely bike, great ride. Currently off the road dues to having an MOT and I've got to re-do my CBT. Funds didn't allow for a test yet, but will be looking to get my licence early next year. Couple of questions I need to ask about the MOT - so I'll stick them in the workshop forum. Rich (aka arkive2097)

Hi all, Great site, I’m sure I’ll be back for advice at some point later but thought i’d say hello for now. I’ve recently done CBT and bought my first bike, I’d been looking at China’s finest offerings for a while but I saw the error of my ways and found a nice ‘Japanese’ YBR for the right price! Not going to be nailing any track days any time soon but she’s been nice and reliable so far and great for commuting and learning to ride. What would you all advise about doing DAS? Does everyone do the intensive courses nowadays or is it possible to break it down into lessons and spread the cost out a bit?

Hi everyone, just to quickly introduce myself my name is Elliot and I'm from Birmingham and completely new to biking! Just bought myself a 2010 YBR 125 for my first bike and can't wait to ride it. Also I'm 19 years old and have been driving for over 2 years so not a total newbie to engines and the roads. Fell free to tell me some obvious thing about biking and the YBR I should know about haha

Hello one and all. After many years of 4 wheel motorsport, the mid-life crisis hit (mid 50s so a bit late!) and I decided that I should address the lack of category A on my license. I just completed my CBT last week and have bought a 2010 model YBR125 to get some training and experience on prior to doing DAS for a full license. I am currently annoying the nearest housing estate of a quiet evening, practising junctions.

Hi all Just passed my DAS late last year after riding on a cbt for a couple of years. Then bought an XJ6 and love it very much. I use my bike everyday and it never skips a beat. Planning trips to Scotland early spring and bigger trips over to the alps later in the summer.

Well not exactly a new boy but a sixty year old and retired and I have 'inherited' a project from my son to restore an almost running 86/87 FZX700. Being a Honda ST1100 PAN European rider/maintaniner (sorry Yamaha owners) I know nothing about FZX's yet so looking to all you expert members to help please. Cheers
