Hi guys, names norm, 25, from aldershot in hampshire, got 4 years here on a posting. Just bought a 01 XVS 650 that I'm looking to bob. As someone else has said, every time I google something I end up here so thought I would stop snooping and commit, I'm hoping to make some contacts around where I live through YOC to meet up and get pointed in the right direction for mechanics etc, also to pick through old discussions to find my answers. Looking forward to it. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi all. Just introducing myself as a first timer. After many years of riding trials bikes (DT 100 in 1977, DT125 in1980, DT125LC in the late 90's) i liked dt's. Now as an older rider,I've gone more for the cruiser style of bike,( 2006 Harley 1450 softail,2001 883 Sportster). I have now just bought an XT 500 imported from south Africa. I'm looking to get into some LIGHT Green Laning as I'm now disabled. Hope to be getting the bike registered once I've got it all back together & the electrics sorted. I'm looking forward to reading & hopefully contributing to some of the post's. Regards all, Tink81

Hi, I've joined the forum as I've gained a lot from the VW forum club 80-90 for my T3 van in the past and thought this might be the way forward with my new purchase. I've been off the motorbikes for a few years after being stupid on sports bikes for to long and getting away with it. So the new deal is I restore a 'sensible' vintage bike for fair weather transport. I'm in Manchester UK and have a 1975 XS500B which I bought on eBay as boxes of bits (2 bikes) on eBay. I'm on the way with it and should have the engine complete and back in by the weekend. I foresee the problems being the obvious things, so it would be great to hear from any owners or anyone that has …

Hiya all. I just bought my first ever Yamaha. Its an SZR 660 Few reasons made me decide to plop for this. Firstly, that I just wanted to get a smaller single cylinder, or perhaps a V-Twin. I was not willing to go for an XV535 but certianly an 1100 maybe. I kind of fell in love with this bike when I frist saw its pictures. As stock, its not much, but this one has been modified in a few areas, exhaust, fairing, headlamps and handlebars are all gone and now it has a SuperMoto feel to it. The legs are bloody awfully cramped but the arms are just right. I no longer do any touring and wont see any time in the near to mid future where I will do, so the go…

Hi to all you owners of Yamahas old and new. I am a new owner of a 2003 Silverado 1100cc. I am a retired american living in Mexico City area, looking for folks who like to ride. My wife and I are weekenders now. I just finished a long trip from Fresno, Ca., where I bought my bike, to Mexico City, 8 day on the road. Two to relax in Green Valley, Arizona and one day on the beach in Acapulco, Gro. Mexico. 3000 miles and a lot of it was during the cold streak in rizona and northern Mexico. I swear that I ws riding in sub 0 weather but I survived and detoured to Acapulco to meet my wife for a relaxing day on the beach before heading home. If anyone out there wants …

Hi everybody. I'm here to introduce myself because when I signed up and gave my details on the 6th. Sept. 2012 I thought I had become a member of this site. Unfortunately Sacha and Mike 1949 jumped in claiming I wasn't entitled to the question I asked and that I had thrown a tantrum. I found this out on google when searching for information about XV1100 spoked wheels today. Well I don't know what a new member is supposed to say except what is in his/her profile. I live in Western Australia In a small town about 100km's south of perth. I have raced speedway solos at Claremont Speedway, now extinct, I've raced moto cross and enduro's and for nearly 50 years I have r…

Hi guys, Dirk here from Johannesburg, South Africa. I work for an event company and we do show lighting, staging, audio and video for live events and shows. I also love dabbling in stage pyro and some other kinds of visual effects. The time I don't spend working, I ride, mostly. My current bike has been my primary transport for the last three years now and I'm loving it! Hope to spend a lot of time here in the future as I'm in the process of doing some customising to the bike. Best regards, Dirk Badenhorst

Well I should have posted in here sooner as I prematurely jumped straight in the workshop for help when I joined a day or two ago... Never good with introductions over the internet aha so here goes. My names Steve I'm 24 from Kingswinford UK and have been riding for roughly 4 years on the road and just a little longer than that off-roading and motorcross. Still on CBT just never had the urge to take the big bike test yet as a 125 gets me about and to work. As far as my bikes go I have been jumping from bike to bike owning 4 strokes and found my way back to 2strokes and currently have a 99 DT125R which I picked up a few months ago (pictures to follow) Well not much…
