Hi Members, I've just started the journey of bringing a '74 DT 175 back to life. I've posted a picture of it as my profile. When my brother bought it, it started but the throttle was stuck. I already got the carburetor cleaned out and the throttle assembly working. List of things I know 'll have to go through: Clutch Suspension Lighting (missing left side switch and some headlight parts) I just ordered a hard copy version of the Workshop Manual from Ebay. Sean

Hi there all. I'm very new to the club and have possibly taken on a project too far. I've own bikes before but newer ones that it's not worth getting too hands on with (other than a cleaning rag!) I've now gone and got myself a 1979 XS 250. A definate project bike. It's a rolling chassis with engine, and 'box of bits'. The engine supposedly runs but need to find out for myself if that's true. Feeling a bit daunted and wondering where to start. Some friends reckon that servicing as I go is the way, where as others think I should just hook it all up and see if it starts. The whole lot only set me back £100 so it's no great shakes if (when)I screw something up. Any helpful h…

Hello, Been riding my 2010 ybr125 since may last year. Have just clocked 5000 miles. Great commuter and to learn on! Easy to clean and maintain, back tyre lasted 4400miles. have changed the plug to iridium and got 70mph out of it today was amazed. Struggled with the small mirrors at first but that only forces you to check properly! Bought from yamaha dealer on 0% finance thinking the interest rate was going to rocket, hasn't happened yet! Headlight it comes with isn't up to the dark country lanes so changed to a motovision one, which is much better! Also fitted brushguards to try and deflect the icy winds. Great on petrol and cheap to tax & insure, have loved every …

Hi! A 35 year old woman who got a job just far enough away from home - to justify to my better half that this.. this is the time to buy the motorcycle I've always dreamed of. After wanting to get a bike for 12 years - my dream bike, after checking my bank account, was any bike that I could get for practically nothing. Not quite enough googeling, and one enthusiastic brother-in-law later... I now ride around on a Yamaha XJ Diversion 600N - borrowed from a co-worker. I will do this until I get the bike I bought about 3 months ago. Fell in love on eBay - bought it - and have been waiting for it since. 3 months is a long time waiting for a dream bike. (Luckily it's a…

Hi, my name is Ann, I'm 54 years young, I got my bike licence in 2004, mainly because i wanted to tour europe but not confined to a steel box. The road trip lasted two weeks and was fantastic. I bought a honda 500cb when I passed my test, call me timid, but that's what i had and i loved it. Took me touring and never once complained even tho I put it on it's side twice times. Last year I bought a yamaha dragstar, not sure how I'll get on with it cos my legs are 33 inches long and I feel my legs are way out to the sides whereas with the cb they were sort of tucked in. Could just be me needing to get used to the riding position but I absolutely love the bike so I'll …

Hi All, my name is Adil. I am a 46 year old male living in San Diego, California. Recently I changed jobs and now work just 2 miles away from the office. This is why I started looking for a small bike and I fell in love with a Yamaha CT1 175, apparently a 72, could be a 71. I paid $750 and picked it up today, knowing that I would have to put some work in to make her reliable and fun. I am pretty good with tools and have a fairly good technical understanding. List of things I need to do: - take a pic and post it here - find out what year it is - buy some parts and misc So far I ordered: helmet, goggles, rear tire, front pads, left lever assembly (mine has br…
