Greetings all! I just became a member and I'm looking forward to many years of Interaction with the "club". I just bought a very restorable (hopefully, piece by piece) 1973 Yamaha AT125 enduro (still can't believe it!) I'm 52 years old and I owned this very same bike when it was new. It was also my very first bike with many more to come after that. That very first '73 125 was taken from me prematurely by a Woman running a red light (car) through an intersection going 40 mph. I got t-boned by Her and I was ALSO doing 40 mph. When I finished bouncing off of cars ACROSS the intersection, I picked myself up (yep) and hobbled back to the scene to find my bike wedged under the …

Hi Folks, Well, both my wife I have bikes, at the moment I have a black XVS650 and my Wife rides a Honda Shadow 600. Hoever I have just ordered a low milage XVS950 and the Wife will take over the 650. Nice to be returning to Yamaha after a few years away (a lot of years away as we have had kids and other dull stuff to deal with). Very impressed with the two Yams, good build quality and very good performance. Hope to see you on the road, Simessail

Hi all. Not ridden a bike for over 35 years and decided to go back. Very annoyed to find out I couldn't ride anything above 125. Back in the day a provisional licence would cover up to a 250, my last bike, which was a Yamaha XS 250 twin. However having completed the essential basic training without making a fool of myself I'm now on the road with a Dragstar XVS 125. An odd choice perhaps but a bloke of my age looks a little odd on a street racer type and to be honest, I love the cruiser styling, and of course it looks like a 650 even close up. Sadly the bike is partially dissembled as the MOT ran out and I needed new fork seals and got a little carried away. One of m…

Good morning all, I am coming back to biking after a 10 year absence. Silly mistake leaving in the first place, but there you go. I have recently done an Enhanced Rider Course with Shires in Leicester, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Been looking at the MT09 Tracer, read fab reviews etc. Got a test ride on Saturday, I guess if I post again, I will actually be a Yamaha Owner! Cheers Bayf P.S. One quick question, is there a huge difference between the 2016 and 2017 models? i have a dealer who has 2016 which are brand new and a fair bit cheaper than the 2017

Hello everyone, I thought I'd pop a post here as my original joining post was in the Cutoms section. As of the end of February I am now the proud owner of a BEAUTIFUL XVS 1100 Custom. It's been a while since I last owned a bike (10 years, and even longer since my last Yamaha, a Diversion!) as where I've been living had nowhere to store one safely, but now I've moved and have a garage I thought it only right I fill it with things that bring me joy. It'll also give my Dad someone else to go out with, as he's just bought a Valkyrie. The XVS at the moment has a bit too much bling for my liking so I'm planning on customising it slightly. I'll be post…

Just wanted to say hello. I have just got hold of a couple of older Yamaha's to remind me when I used to have fun..I have now got a 2006 DT125RE and just got a TZR 125r 4DL a Swiss import. Now having the fun of trying to get hold of the parts etc.. I have grounded the wire on the DT and now I need to find out how to ground out the wire on the TZR. It was so much easier, when I could go and buy a Micron, racing reeds, bigger jet, K&N, ledar induction kit and a new front sprocket (Job done)

Hi there to all, After many years of riding only Yamaha's I eventually branched out to other marques, I am happy to say that I am now once again a Yamaha owner again I started off, as all the greats, did on the humble fizzy, a bike I never crashed! From there, as soon as age allowed I progressed onto my first 250, an RD250E ...which i crashed after 4 days...bloody target fixation! but went on for a good 18 months of happy thrashing till an idiot knocked me off into a telegraph pole breaking my arm and leg, as it was his fault I eventully got a good payout but I don't recommend it as a way of making money, it was a hard painful recovery. Whilst being off th…

Hi Folks, I'm coming back to the fold on the 11th. After having an FZS1000 from 2009 to 2021 I swapped to a Ducati Monster 821 which I've had for the last 3 years but due to a leg injury and getting older I'm needing to move to something more comfortable. On Thuirsday this week (11th April) I collect a 2021 Tracer 7. 🙂

Hello Forum Members! I've been riding bikes since 1970, dirt and street. The first bike I purchased was a 1978 XS400 and rode the bike a lot. Dealt with the ignition issues and after that it was a very fun little bike. I moved up in engine size from there and have owned over 20 bikes since then. I have Motorcycle A.D.D. Well, this week I found a nice 1980 XS400 that has had a decent cafe job done to it and got back on one. While I enjoy the cafe look, I am looking forward to sorting the bike and riding it locally. My current "other" bike is a ZX14, which sports 180hp at the crank and 170hp at the rear wheel. Back in the day, we never really had hp numbers on these little …

Hi! Where you all going? I'm Backfire from Montevideo. I bought a brand new Yamaha SR-250 (Exciter?). How I could buy her is a long story, whatever I've no choice to get neither spares nor assistance here. The bike have needed some care because she had been in storage for a long time. I'm glad to find YOC!!. Backfire. P.S.: If I learn to upload images, I'll meet you my SR!

Hello, Can any body help ? I am trying to establish the overall dimensions of the YDS-5e which was used as a basis for the Batgirl Bike. I would also be grateful for any help finding some drawings too. I am working on a project to produce all the vehicles used by Batman and his colleagues and enemies for a part work publication. Hi everyone, newbie here. Just scored a 125 (2300 orig. miles) that's been in a shed for 26 years. My big concern is buying a reasonably priced battery. My local dist here in Denver sold me one that is obviously too big for this lil' tyke'. Any thoughts besides going to a Yam. dealer in the Rcky. Mnt. area?? (Walmart doesn't stock what I need either...) I'd paste a pic but haven't a clue how on this forum... Thanks in advance ~
