Hi.Recently joined the forum, hoping to get some help/advise when restoring my dt125lc 12w.I had a fs1e dx in the late 80s that i sold for £200 -wish I still had that ! but I do have a later fs1e (non pedal) that i plan on giving an earlier look (yellow early tank and side panels etc. Bought the dt125lc 12w as a field bike.I got the reg confirmed from yamaha uk and managed to get the v5c.At the start of the year I started stripping and documenting the dt. Just wanted to say hi to all - just joined. Not a new rider, have been riding for a good number of years. Currently own a 06 Stratoliner and a 09 FZ6R. Recently purchased a 1982 XS400J Maxim, not sure what I want to do with it - thinking a bobber type of ride (even though it won't be a hardtail). Actually, this new bike is the real reason I joined, want to see what others have done with them, also info on them on the web seems scarce compared to other bikes. Bill

Just bought my xtz660 Tenere. Love it. Handles like a dream and so much fun. I'm a Brummie who's been into bikes since about 15. I'm a car MOT tester/Technician but have a good mechanical knowledge of bikes. My list of bikes is extensive (only one at a time though) My yamaha's incl RS100 (1977), Divvie (1991) , YZF750R (1994), XS750SE (1980) and now the Tenere. Its a well kept bike as you can see from my pic. I'm chuffed to bits. VG

  10. Hi All, My name is John and I live in North West UK near Manchester. I am now 52 and it is 26 years since my last bike which was a 1976 Honda 750-4 F1, I passed my test in March 1982. I fancied doing a bit of biking again, so I have purchased a 1992 Yamaha RSX 100S which is in reasonable condition (all I can afford at moment, daughter at uni. etc etc !!). I have been preparing it for an MOT and its surprising how working on bikes comes back to you even after all these years, can't wait to get it on road !!. I have a couple of small queries, I noticed when pulling sideways on the rear wheel there is slight play in the swinging arm, is this an MOT fail point …

Hi Everyone, I am new to the site, and to bike ownership! I am 32, and a race mechanic (cars) in Cheshire, and have finally decided I have got enough self preservation about me to trust myself on a bike. I first rode a little crosser when I was about 7 years old at a fair, and when my auntie asked me what the bike was, I proudly told her I had ridden a Yahamaha........... I have had a few plays on friends bikes, but finally bit the bullet and bought a rather unloved XJ600 pre diversion in Jan of this year..... Last week I had a look on Google for the Yamaha Owners Club, and the first link was to here, and in particular a thread from 2011, about an XJ60…

Hi all New to this site. Just got most of a TZR 125 from my son for the large sum of £100. OK so it is currently in many bits in the back garden but the frame is reasonable and the engine fired up even though it had been sitting for a couple of years. Have lifted the head and freed off the piston rings. Just need some decent weather in sunny Scotland to try and tidy it up. Can't wait to get it together and give it a run. Have spent alot of time reading through the forums and alot has been said about the YPVS system fitted to these bikes, is there any great gain in altering this if the bike is just to be used for commuting? Look forward to speaking to you all soon …

Hi. Hello to everyone here. I have a Yamaha FJ1200 (abs). It's a great bike. It's an on-going project to make the bike feel and ride as good as new, though it is 27 years old! I will upload a couple of photos soon. Kind regards, Geoff Donaldson.
