Just a quick intro. I am a fit 68 yr old and a retired engineer. My wife and I emigrated to Perth last year to be near our children and grand children I brought a lathe and other tools with me (my hobby) and started looking for a "project" I had various old trials bikes in UK but they are thin on the ground in Oz. Yesterday, I bought a 1984 SR250 off gumtree for $50 (about £25 in UK money)! It's obviously a wreck, plenty of rust (unusual in Perth) and minus some parts including seat and tank. I plan to build a "twin shock" trials bike from it for post classic events. Not seen it done before so should be interesting! I will endeavour to make as many parts as I can and hope…

Hi Tomorrow I get my first ever motorbike, an FZR600R which has been streetfightered (I'm not a massive fan of the style but it was cheap). I'm paying £600 for it and it has a fresh MOT but no tax. My name is Robert and I live near Scunthorpe (just off the A1077) and I'm 24 years old. When I have the bike I'll get some pictures on. Hi folks, sorry my first post on here is a question but I have been loitering in the forum as a guest for too long. Ive decided that its time to resurrect my DT. Ive ridden bikes since I was tall enough to get on one I had a chopped down c50 at 6 years old, followed by a series of miscellaneous field bikes, until I was 16 when I got my first road bike - a Simson comfort... Wow Didnt I think I was cool. been through a few since then, a series of mopeds the tattyst CG125 to ever pass an mot, a cb 100 wich then became a CB/CG. First big bike was a Z550 followed by a cbr 600 then RF 600, 1996 Fireblade ( still kind of miss that one ) now the proud owner of 1999 GSXR 750 a…

Hi all, Name's pete and i'm from Cape Town, South Africa. Loved bikes all my life, but early on MGs stole my true love. Honest. In the middle, work and children got in the way. I was taught to ride a '34 250cc BSA at age of 9, circa 1955. Brother's bike. See, even as children we were into old stuff. Now daily ride is an XT 6002 kf. Restoring an '84 XT 600 39E (34L). To follow are an XT500 and an RD 350 lc. And only then an MGTC. Think i got it right this time. p

Hi i am a new member and am excited to finally be part of a group. Oops had better properly introduced myself. I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland and I'm 44 years old. I have had several bikes mainly Hondas over the years but at the moment I've got a wrf450 and a Yamaha mt-03 .There's lots of places to ride over here specifically in large Pine Forest areas and so on . Not too much riding around in the city of the Gold Coast but anywhere an hour away there's lots of great places.

Hi all, Found a steal (DT125R) for £250. It was used as a field bike so now it's in a bit of a state. Brought it as a project to restore and use out on the tracks. I came across this forum looking for but think it would be easier to join and get the help I need from what seems like a great bunch. First up what model my guess it's the 89' DT 125 R how can I tell. Second, best place for parts and find a set of decals. Will post in more specific threads later. Many thanks, Dan
