Hi all just joined because i need a little bit of help identifying a old Yamaha I have just brought. I know very little about it other than it has disc brakes front and back the rear shock sits under the tank it appears to be a twin cylinder because of 2 coils mounted to the frame, also the rear swing arm is aluminium and the front of the frame is not. Here are a few pictures Any help would be great thanks Tom.

Hey fellas, I'll start by saying I've had a lot of bikes of bikes over the years, mostly all off road bikes. Some of those include 98 Honda Cr125, 93 Yamaha YZ125, 81 Honda ATC70, 85 Honda ATC185s, 85 Honda 250 big red, 85 Kawasaki KXT250 Tecate, 69 Norton Commando 750, and my newest 80 Yamaha sr250. As you can see I have a thing for trikes, never got my hands on a tri-z though...I currently only have the Tecate(my baby) and the sr250. Growing up on Long Island I spent a lot of time riding off road, I have pretty strong mechanical skills and I consider myself to be really good with electrical work, so I hope I can be helpful to the forum. Anyway, I just picked up this…

I started riding on a 2000 Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat in 2010! I fell in love with it. I'm afraid I will have to part with it soon since I've become a trackday rider with an interest in racing now so I don't think it would be very competitive for me...but I will never forget her! Anyone else feel my pain?

I've been lurking and reading plenty on here since I bought my first bike back in May last year but have failed to introduce myself so here goes: Hi all! I'm Nick, a 28 yr old software engineer from London. By software engineer I basically mean I swear at computers and mobile phones all day and google constantly to understand what the hell I'm actually doing. Bought a YBR 125 custom second hand last year and loving it. Bike is sadly off road atm since someone backed into it but Im itching to get riding again. Hoping to get a license in the next couple of months and Im sure I'll end up upgrade to something a little beefier...

No riding experience except maybe for a scooter on holiday abroad about 18 years ago ha ha. The bike is a 1987 Yamaha FZR 400RR Genesis 1WG. Waiting until next tuesday (2 more days) to get mot and tax and I am on my way. I have had the bike about 3 months and have just got it running right serviced new rubber and ready to go. Hi everyone, just a quick intro. Wrong side of 50, never really grown up. (your a man, thats normal I hear the ladies say..)I have a Triumph Sprint but also in the family we have a 1970 BSA A65 and a new addition, a 1982 XJ 750. The A65 and the Yamaha are in the renovation process. I will be going to the classic bike show on Easter Saturday so hopefully will be able to pick up some bits there. In the early '80s I had an XJ 650 which was almost new when I got it. It was a splendid bike. I loved it, and its nice to have the prospect of riding something similar in the near future. Before I bought the sprint by the way I was sorely tempted by the Fazer thou. In a lot of respe…

Joined up last week seeking some 'technical' advice, but thought it'd be polite to post a (very) brief intro here first. I bought a little DT125R back in September, about 10 yrs after I orginally intended to learn to ride. Did my CBT in August with a view to then doing the proper tests as & when I can find time for them, which isn't likely to be until the spring. Anyway, having great fun so far, wish I'd found the time to do this years ago.

Hi everyone. I just bought my first bike, a red 1999 r6. It needs some work to get it running but it looks good. Got new spark plugs, grips, tires, air filter, only thing left is the electrical system. There is some major short that is not letting it start up but the engine turns. I bought a repair book to help out. But yeah this is my summer project and im looking forward to riding it soon.

Hi all, just joined up so thought I'd introduce myself. I've been driving cars for years, but have always wanted to ride a bike - Just never got round to it. However an opportunity recently presented itself and I'm now the proud owner of a 2009 YBR125! Did my CBT in Feb and I'm now riding it on L plates for the moment, but will eventually get round to doing my Direct Access test (Live in the UK, near Chester). So that's me. Look forward to chatting to you guys! -Andy-

Some of you will know me from other forums. I emigrated from England to Australia last decade with work, then to Belgium after jacking in the career and a run of bad health. I spend my weekends adding to and tinkering with my collection (mostly 2-strokes from my youth) and have two sons who want their own bikes
