Hi everyone I'm another new starter although this is not my first post. I really have'nt introduced myself to the forum properly. I am totally new to 2 wheels although I have held a full car licence for 30 years so from that you will gather that I'm no spring chicken. I am just about to be made redundant and will be moving from Birmingham down to Cornwall so my newly acquired YBR 125 Custom will be my new steed while the wife uses the car. I got through my CBT 2 weeks ago and passed my theory this weekend so I'm on a roll. I'm really taken to this 2 wheel life and have just got back from a 120 mile run. I assume putting some miles under my belt is the best thing to do…

Hey everyone, My name is Logan and I'm in Viriginia, USA, but originally from West Virginia. I'm a fairly new rider and first time really using a forum. I've looked around the forum and know I can learn from everyone so I thought I would join. I've actually never been a forum member before, so forgive me if I don't know the proper way to do things. I grew up with my family riding but just recently bought my first bike. It's an sr250 and its in pretty good shape but I can't wait to start working on it. Thanks everyone! -Logan

As you might guess from the huge clue in my ID I ride a YBR125. Don't laugh, please. It is all I can afford. I have had it since new & have only been knocked off it once, by a cage driver who back-ended me. No serious damage to the bike, or me but I was well p---ed off. I have had several bikes. I passed my test on a SR125 & rapidly graduated from a 2-stroke Honda MBX80 to a 1989 Enfield 350. A Royal Enfield Bullet was my old man's last bike. Both our bikes died of the same issue: Knackered big-end bearing: A tap-tap-tap noise only under load and fine bronze particles on the oil-filter when I investigated. I loved that bike and would have happily spent …

Hello there! My name is Harry, I'm 16 and live in East Sussex. I've been interested in motorbikes for a while, and am rebuilding some engines with my Dad. I'm pretty confident on a bike although I don't actually OWN a Yamaha yet, but hold your horses. I turn 17 on the 18th of September, and am looking at investing in a Yamaha Dragstar XVS 125. I've done extensive research on the Dragstar, and have found it tops out at 60MPH-70MPH, I’ve also heard that it's a very reliable bike and has a good economy. I love the fact that it's a V-Twin, the bike also engineered with heart, and looks and sounds fantastic! There's just a few things I could do with an array of opi…

Hello all, I found this site while looking for info to fix up my 13 year old son's new(to him) and first bike, a 1981 IT125 that he bought with his own cash. It was running like a two legged cat when he bought it, and now it's slowly starting to come around. As for me, I'm an Irish biker, riding since '78 (a CD 175) and have had almost all makes since. I've been living in Canada since '87 after surviving a three year drinking session in SE London. I'm a full time Carpenter that enjoys tinkering with all sorts of things but can safely say that there's not an hour of the day that goes by without me having some thoughts about bikes.

Hi All, Just a quick hello/introduction! My names Kyle, I'm a petrol head (currently driving a mk6 Fiesta ST, which is my 7th car) and I'm finally getting myself on the road to the world of Biking, I bought my first bike, a Yamaha YBR 125, 08 plate, which i'll be learning on until i'm ready for bigger and better things! I've got my CBT next saturday, so if anyone has any advice for me, it would definitely be welcome! I have been driving for 7 years, but so i'm nearly entirely new to bikes, having only messed around with a 125 in first gear before. I'm looking forward to learning more about getting the most out of having a bike, and hopefully they…

Hi - I'm Andy from Stafford (UK). Got my first bike, a YBR125, at the end of December 2010 and so far I'm loving it. Hoping to progress to something a little bit more exciting in the not too distant future, but I'm very happy with my little 125 at the moment while I'm learning! I look forward to chatting to you all.

Hi, I have been into motorbikes all my life but never owned own until 8days ago! I was in the motorbike shop paying for my wife's scooter when I saw a 51reg SR125 for £600. I have looked at and sat on some chinese bikes but they have never felt right. I have had three operations on my spine so I need a comfortable ride and some thing that is not harsh and as soon as I sat on the SR I knew it was the bike for me. I managed to haggle the guy down to £550, new MOT, service and a full tank of petrol plus free delivery. Here are few pics of my bike in the shop and when I got home.Ive got a topbox and rack off the wifes old MBK NITRO scooter she had. The rack will nee…

Morning men and ladies; I've been offered a 1992 xj900f for £300 by a friend of mine as a first big bike for when I pass my test as I'm still on a cbt. Sadly it's in bits at the moment as he was stripping it down to have the frame powder coated then he had heart problems so never got put back together although it was in daily use until then. So questions are would it make an ok first big bike, is it easy to handle and quite docile in slow traffic and anything I should watch out for or upgrade (brakes etc) when putting it back together? Hi all, just like to say, I don't really use forums, so try to be nice I would also like to find a fabricator, as I am paralysed in my right arm and would like to have a custom made adaptor to fit some motor-bikes, without having to buy and change things on any bike I ride, but I am in the process of changing this one. I have been riding for over 40 years (many scars to prove it) and lost the use of my arm in a motor-bike accident 30 years ago. Still own and ride bikes, the problem is not the UK, but other countries. I would like to find someone that is really up for the task, as I know it won't be straight forward, but more than possible, if you have the righ…
