Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

Can anyone tell me if all the front wheels off XT600s are interchangeable, or what the differences are, as I want to fit one to an XT600 front end from circa 1985 I am putting on my XT550, and have seen one for sale but the seller does not know which XT600 model it is from. Thanks Nick

Hi, i ride an 05 Dtr on the road and recently bought a lot of ebay which consisted of a complete 2002 Dtr which was a non runner, and a medley of parts that was clearly someones project that got abandoned. All off road ofcourse. I've had the 02 dt apart, engine rebuild and its now running like a dream, well apart from the fuel tap seal failing on me, which apparently you cannot get hold of so guess its a whole new tap.... Anyway i digress, the original point is about the rest of the parts.... He tells me that all the parts are there to make a complete 1986 dt. Looking at the bits i see that there are a few differences between the later Dt's and these Dt125L…

I'm really sorry about my first post being in the wrong section but it would not allow me to post in the parts wanted section I'v got a 1989 DTR 125, on the road... the guy who had it b4 me cut the electrics up and totally messed it up, now one by one things on my bike are dying.. and now i have total loss of power.. everytime it rained and i was riding the lights cut out :/ so im looking for another wiring loom for it, but finding it dam near impossible. and the bike garage have quoted 300 pounds to do it from scratch and i dont have that kinda money unfortunetly any thoughts? cheers, phil81

Ill get the engine numbers and that later, but ive got, what i beleive to be the rd125 engine, a spare that came with parts i bought from a lot on ebay. Its in storage at the mo but when i next go there ill get it. Just wondering if anyone knows what these go for, and if anyones interested in buying one, or parts from it. Cheers Andy

Does anyone know if there are alloy wheels off another bike that would fit the wr? Am looking into fitting supermoto wheels to it and don't really want the spoke type ones.

well first off i was told it was either or.....Magneto, or CDI box....how do you tell which one to replace...how does either go bad...and what do they do for the bike?.....my bike has a good spark, weak compression...6-10 hrs on the piston, and its carb was recently cleaned...i dont know much about this bike as it was a christmas present and since then we split up so im stuck with an easily fixed bike....anyone out there willin help?? 1998 YZ 80

Being 6ft5 I find my DT125R is a little small for me, is there anyway of adjusting or replacing the rear suspension to increase the ride height??

Yo - CharlieP here from central Oregon with my 83 XT550. I tried the search but nothing came up and I haven't had time to really go page by page thru my shop manual (pdf on CD i got off of eGay ) I'd like to know how to adjust the cam chain. I've heard that this is one of the items to stay on top of with the XT550's. Thanks

hi there guys im haveing a problem with my ignition on my dtr 125r 2006 it was working fine then i took off the frame that holds the relays and the rectifier to respray it due to rust did that replaced all the relays and rectifier then i decided to respray the top yoke so i took the clocks off but couldnt undo the torx bolts that holds the barrel bracket on so i undid the little screws that hold the barrel caseing on leaveing me with a plastic bit with contacts on thats wired into the loom another little plastic bit thats keyed on one side and with copper contacts that are spring loaded on the other side and a plate with notchs in i think i have replaced all this correct…

Hi,could anyone help, i am trying to find a front brake caliper for my dt 125 lc3 1987,not sure if a later dtr caliper will fit although having looking at many pictures they look identical.As do some other yamaha calipers.Also if they dont fit anyone know the difference between the two? Hi selling a dt125 servo. It's the one with 4 multiple connectors and one single bullet one. Purchused the wrong one for my bike.

I have a 1995 DT125R (kick start) with 2k on the clock. Dep silencer, derestricted by dealer, power valve pinned and bigger jet, standard sprockets. Very fast bike for 125cc. 80mph @ 9000rpm. Flys after 6500rpm but nothing below, so i got a servo motor etc. I have fitted the parts following DT125.net etc. Went for a test ride, power from 4500rpm but it has lost it's top end. Slows at 7000rpm onwards. Anyone had this problem or any ideas?

Does anyone out there have any clocks for a dt125r for sale?Just rebuilt a 1990 dtr and need some clocks and a seat.I've tried ebay but they want stupid money.can anyone help? cheers

Hi I've currently got the ypvs pegged open, and it has a dep exhaust but it doesn't want to rev to the red line still. Anyone know why. My old rg125 had no trouble revving to about 12k but my dt will only rev to about 8-9k but it really struggles through it. Does the jetting need to be changed? It's a 1997 bike Cheers

I have just started renovating a DT200R 1988 ? ( if you read this Jim, this is all the model info i could find re. frame no 3ET 005292 ) After mending a broken servo cable and freeing the powervalve everything worked ok - for a short while . Now when turning on the electrics , the servo doesn't centre , just throws all 1 way . Are circuit parts available ? could an electronics guy fix this ? I presume its best to have the powervalve left at the closed position as I want a rideable rather than cammy race bike . Any ideas welcome Cheers Bob
