So just got me a brand-spankin' new(in 1977) DT250! [bows to thunderous applause] Yep! & I'm lovin it--much easier offroad than my KLR. Now, I can tell I will have a lot of questions about this bike in the future, but for now, I was wondering: 1) Have any of y'all ever figured out a way to plumb in a valve or quick-disconnect/seal or some other way to keep gas from pouring everywhere when you take the tank off?? The little hose under there that you have to disconnect every time is good at shooting it right at your crotch. 2) I hear 2-strokes are iffy on the freeway--that long-distance ridin can wear 'em out. Any truth to this? 3) Is there a simple way to set …

Hi, I've got a dt 125 which I'm looking to sell, the trouble is I dont know what model it is. It was sold to me as a 2003 model by a dealer, the logbook say's its an LC but its air-cooled, I think its a grey import as the clocks are in kms, it was brought into this country from s/ireland, the chassis number starts 3TT/. Any further info on this would be helpfull also how much should i expect to get for it, its done 2300km and is in exellent condition.

Hi All, I just joined the group. I have 1984 DT200L that I bought last summer and am just getting to the bike now. The problem I have is sometimes it starts and most of the time it does not. When I bought it, it did not run. I cleaned the carb as best as I could. I put a new battery in and when I turned the key on, you could hear the servomotor for YPVS working, It no longer sounds when I turn the key on. The bike would start, and run for 5 or 10 minutes, then die, usually far enough away from home base to make for a long hot push. I have spark, and I have fuel at the spark plug as it is wet. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME????? I would really like to ride this bike t…

hI, iM NEW TO THE TTR 600 AND HAVE SINCE BOUGHT IT FOUND THAT MY KICK START IS JUST ABOUT READY TO BREAK, ITS BEEN WELDED BEFORE BUT KNOWING MY LUCK IT WOULD SNAP WHEN OUT IN THE LANES SOMEWHERE AND NO WAY OF STARTING THE BEAST AGAIN. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS: 1. IS THE SPECIFICATION OF THE BIKE THE SAME AS THE XT? 2. IS THE DECOMPRESSION CABLE AUTOMATIC, IF SO HOW MUCH DOES IT ACTUALLY MOVE WHEN BOOTING IT OVER 3. SEEM TO BE HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH RUNNING, FOR EXAMPLE AFTER FIVE MILES OR SO SHE CUTS OUT, WILL START AGAIN PROBABLY TWO MINUTES LATER, THEN THIS CAN ALL BE REPEATED, ANY IDEAS ON WHAT COULD BE CAUSING IT. 4. WHERE IS A GOOD OUTLET FOR NEW SET…

Ok i ordered a set of seals for my dt 125 1989!!! Took them to local mechanic to fit them and when he stripped my old ones off they were the wrong ones. I went back to the bike shop and they state they are the correct ones for my bike. The seals that came out are 20mm thick and the new ones are half the size. Anyone know if the bike shop are giving me the wrong ones or any other ideas? The bike shop told me that the old ones have a built in dust seal but my mechanic ( a clever man ) swears blind that there isnt a built in dust seal. Any thoughts on this guys?
