got a 1994 super tenere 750. has been missing terribly/losing power going up hill. changed plugs 5 months ago, went fine, but slowly gets back to square one. backfires when coming down hill/change down a gear., and struggles to get up hills - and misses badly and basically sounds more like chitty bang bang than a bike!.just changed plugs again and checked air filters, and it's going well again. old(ish) plugs were black and sooty. changing the plugs and getting to air filters has been the pinnacle of my mechanical career so far, and any suggetsions on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated! jaff

I just bought a DT175 in Botswana. The bike comes from Yamaha South Africa. The headlamp dims so much when I apply the brakes, regaurdless of speed/rpm, that I can hardly see where I'm going. If I use my indicators, it does the same thing and when I use both, the light almost goes out. I managed to measure, with no other lights on, a 50 mV voltage loss on the negative side of the bulb and 450mV on the positive, making me suspect that the earth is good and they should have simply used heavier guage wiring from the factory. I would like to change the 165mm x 100mm headlamp with a standard, e-code headlamp housing anyway, which would require a different bulb base like the…

Just traded my pw80 for a 2005 ttr125 off craig's list. needs some attention which it didn't receive from previous dipsh#@ owner. have gotten all perfect except the carb. can't get it to idle. have dissected it and used the manual to check settings and unfortunately it just doesn't idle. runs good otherwise. have the idle set screw turned in almost all the way. the air screw setting on the bottom of the carb is only open about 1 1/2 turns. the carb has an ink stamp 'RM' on it. perhaps this means remanufactured? anyone care to toss in some sound advice. hate to have to spend the $$ at the dealer or buy a new $210 carb.

My friends (used to be mine) YZ250 quit running the other day. It still has compression. When he was riding it, it bogged then quit running. He kicked it over again and started and idled for prolly 5 seconds then bogged and died. If someone could help, cause nobody on Everything2Stroke will help, they are all worried about their blasters and banshees. Somebody help. Also, he replaced the seal behind the countershaft sprocket and it still leaks.

I bought myself a DTR the other month, off of ebay for my sins and yes you guessed it i got a real donkey (despite taking a so called bike expert friend along to check it over)....all of the V5 and history checks out though so thats a plus. I LOST THE KEYS ......yes came off and lost the keys, wasn't aware they could come o…

i have recently bought an 03 Dtr only to find it was still restricted when i got it home, what a bummer im part way through doing the derestrictions to it but im having trouble with the simplest one, the reed in the back of the speedo. ive taken it out the back of the speedo and put it put it into a plastic bag with plenty of tape for good measure but the bike is still limited to 60mph. was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if anyone can tell me what im doing wrong, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. cheers

I have a 79' model DT175 which I'm getting ready for registration. The oil light (2 stroke tank under side cover)is on all the time. I have pulled out the switch and checked the operation of the contacts which seem OK. The switch has 3 wires going to it ( I could not work out why it needed 3 wires?) and on closer inspection I found that there is a diode inside a resin type of plug in the top of the switches rubber top. I checked the diode and it seems OK. ( I'm an Electrician) When I disconnect the diode the switch works OK. I would like to know what the diodes purpose in life is?? Why would you need a diode across what should be a simple switch?? Thanks Mark

I've been told that the Headlight glass of a XT600 is exactly the same as the one in the TTR600. Can anyone confirm this please ?

Can some one give me an idea on fuel consumption for the tt600 belgada in touring mode. I plan to sit on around 100 to 110km/h and am at present running 16/48 sprockets. I have a set of 15/42 sprockets to go on it. Bike is in stock trim. I know that I will have to do my own test but some idea on what to expect would be great. Also any suggestions on sprocket gearing wouldnt go astray. Thanks Ernie.

Hi, Have refitted the actual barrell, but wires are different colours on the barrll than those which come off the loom and have obviously been shorted (hot wired) by those that stole it! I have 6 wires from the barrel. Red, Brown, black, Blue/Red stripe, Blue, as well as a seperate black and white stripe. From the loom, I have red, brown, black, blue /yellow stripe, blue/ black stripe, dark green, and (browny black?!) Some seem obvious, and I have got to the point where I can here the power valve opening, so there is power, but it wont start as I obviously have not comp[leted the circuit. Can anyone tell me which colours should go together? big ask I know bu…
