Well, i am here tearing my hair out and i am running out of time, i am hopeing someone out there can help me. I am due for an extended tour of Europe and Asia next week and my 97 XTZ660 3YF has is causing major concern. The weekend before last i was in Wales. Very wet day and very muddy. I went through a few deep puddles at not an excessive speed but shortly afterwards the bike cut out dead. No electrics at all with the ignition on. Anyway, i found the problem to be the main fuse had gone, but when i replaced it the bike would only start with the sidestand up and when i put it down once it was running it would try and cut out. Hi there Can anyone please help. just rebuilt a 1988 dt 125r and can find nowhere to attach the 2 stroke oil pipe to.My carb does not have a connection at the front (like in the hanyes manual) and also theres nothing on the manifold between the carb and engine to conect it to.

hi still having problems with startert solinoid. any info on the elctocal system on a 02 XT600E would helpful as so far no one has come yp with any kind of a thork as to wy they are braking it has been sugested that it may be over charging and so a generater fault. i dont se how this would have sauth a afect. If anyone knows any more about this sort of thing or some one els that migth have any ideas could they let me know.

Can anyone confirm or spread rumor if the 660 is going to be available anytime here in the states or how I can get one here?

Hi I just bought a 99 DT125R from a guy who has neglected to maintain it properly as such i am looking to replace lots of parts starting with the exhaust can anybody reccomend a decent front and rear pipe to replace the standard one i have been on lots of online stores but all pipes i could find are for the YZ can you retro fit YZ pipes to a DT?

hi, have just picked up a dt125lc mk1, bit scabby, has been used for off road only. no lights or any speedos, just the bike, there is no oil tank, so i was wondering if the bloke who had it before did a premix, then put it in the petrol tank,if so should i use 2 stroke engine oil? and what would the mix be roughly. cheers dave

Ok, I have an issue that is really starting to bother me. In JUNE I bought a Yamaha TW200. It is a 2005 with only 615 miles on it. The chain was pretty loose and I think I need to move the back tire back to tighten it, becuase I'm pretty sure the stress of me picking up the slack broke the master-link. Anyways, the masterlink shot off while riding and its a simple fix, but I cannot find it! I haven't been able to ride since the day I bought the bike in june because I cannot find a masterlink anywhere . There are only 2 dealerships within 100 miles of me and neither of them have it. I have looked all over the internet and nowhere has it. I am on a waiting list on twow…

Has anyone dared to red line the bike in top gear? Never mind the manufacturers stats, lets have it from the people who know ! I know what mine can do but i'd like to hear your stories, just as a matter of interest. Me, i tested the bike with all standard factory equipment to start with and then changed things. Any tune up tips to enhance performance of the bike or any reliability/ safety mods would be gratefully received by me and i'm sure every other XT runner, barring the obvious like sprocket changes. i know about the proboards one but i'm looking for the yamaha backed one - have they abandonded it and shut it down - i know what the address was and i've tried it from another site's link, but it seems to have gone - i know it's 10 years since they made them but it seems a shame - there are still a lot of them out here

Bet ya someone has posted something along these lines before, im new to this forum so i wouldn't know. Anyways ive had my DT 125 (2000 Model) for sometime now and am sick of the power, I have a full dep exhaust system and am workin on having my power valves adjusted but at the moment it tops out at over 75mph. I understand i wil need a new de-restricted C.D.I. unit and a set of carbon reed valves, but dont know where to start looking, what type i will need, or the different names of each type, can anyone help ?

Assisted my Mechanical Engineer friend last night with dialing in the Egro's on his new XT225. This is the 1st time this guy is getting back on a bike after a 20 year hiatus from 'em when he lost the use of his left arm in an MX accident. Interesting how we actually got the stock controls to work without too much modification ....... Just gotta figure out how to squeeze in the turn signal switchgear in there somewhere. Eventually my mate wants to design a whole new complete switchgear cluster outta aluminum billet....which the brake reservoir will bolt directly to.....should have a nice clean appearance when he's done

I picked up a yz 250 and Im having trouble with the plug fouling. I ran it for about five miles today then it quit. I checked the spark and had none. Im mixing the gas 42-1. I just picked up the bike and Im just now going through it. Its been a few years since Ive had a bike. The last yz I was a 78' 400. Its a upgrade for me having a 91. Should i rebuild the carb? Is there an adjustment I can make to solve this problem? Marlin

I just picked up a 1980's Yamaha, possibly a 90 or 50 - cylinder head says 87 cc. I need to remove the engine. The main pivot bolt behind the motor will turn with a rachet, but no matter how hard I hit the end the bolt will not come out. Is there a special trick, or do I just hit harder?

its my 16th birthday coming up and i wanted an offroad sort of moped, so i looked straight for the yamaha dt50 since ive been looking ive only seen a couple and theyre either really expensive or very old! ive seen one for £450 and its a 1994 model, do you think its worth it? what sort of stuff can you do to it, to make it quicker and to make it look better aswell? thanx aload louis

Hello guys, I'm returning to moto cross for the first time since i was 8, i have just bought myself a mint race ready 2003 YZ250 and would require info on what needs maintaining, the frequency of maintenance and the two stroke oil to unleaded ratio. Sorry to sound thick but i really don't want to damage the running gear of this ike. Also can someone tell me where i can get hold of some YZ race pants ad padded riding jacket.
