Other than the 2 cycle oil that goes in the tank what other oils or fluids do I need to add? If you are sitting on the bike on the seft side below the carb there is a bolt with a gasket on it and a spring under it. I took out the bolt and there appears to be oil or fluid there. How much and white tipe do I put in? On the right side next to the kick start there is a plastic cap with a dip stick on it. This compartment is empty. What type or weight of oil or fluid do I put in?

So i recently bought my dt 250 and it was running great for a few days and then it died, I finally got it started up the other day and it wont go past 4k rpms when im driving it. ive tried everything i can think of with the carb and i can get it running good for about 10 minutes. it idles just fine just not when driving it? it leaks from the head gasket? idk if maybe a vacuum leak or something would be causing my problem.

I plan to buy a DT50 but it doesn't come with a battery. The owner said it'll run without the battery, but I've read elsewhere that I shouldn't, as this will burn out the headlight and taillight bulbs. Is this an easy thing to pop in or will I have to cut into the wiring to be able to have a battery on this bike? Thanks in advance!

This has probably been done to death on here, but I am pulling my hair out. I have a 2008 XT125X with OIL insp warning up on the dash. It is all running fine with new oil and a recent strip and clean of pretty much everything, and is now ready to put back on the road. how do I clear the message. there are NO "mode" or "set" buttons to push or hold, there is no"blue button" as have been mentioned in the past. Please Help! Thanks in advance. DR.

Hi all, I have just purchased a 2006 Yamaha DT125RE. Its in good condition but the hazard light switch on the left hand side of the bike doesn't work properly and causes the indicators to stop flashing immediately when you switch the hazard button. The indicators do work but I'm sure that the relay is crook. Help?

I need to replace the main bearings and have been told that I need to fit C3 clearance bearings. But the bearings in it are not marked C3. Does anybody know if the bearings need to be C3 rated? I,ve had the engine for years and expect that these bearings are the originals.

  13. Hey everyone, I haven't posted in awhile! I had a couple of questions about my 1979 DT 125. There are rumors that I can add a 175 head and pistons to a 125 to make the cc go up. Is this a possible thing to do? - Change cylinder head from a 125 to a 175? What does this take to do and will it kill the bike overall? Anything helps!! Cheers!

Hi, I've got a DT 175 mx 1979, my woes are detailed elsewhere on the forum namely a holed piston. I'm really struggling with fixing this and got to thinking whether it appears worth all the hassle and maybe breaking it would realise more money than repairing it? As I see it the value of the parts is approx Frame and engine, with v5,matching numbers but engine in bits -£100 Wheels, brand new rims, spokes and tyres -£60 Seat, new cover fitted-£30 Forks -£30 Tank, resprayed with new decals and lacquered- £50 Side panels, front mud guard, rear mud guard, repainted, lacquered, £40 Clocks £30 Lights, horn £30 Handlebars £10 And that's that! Not even £400, so repair it…

Hello there, I currently have issues with the power-valve on my DT, when the ignition is turned on the power-valve moves completely so it is not stuck. However when started the valve does not move at all, is there a rpm return wire to the power-valve that is faulty? Any suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks

Hello, friends. First off I'm new to the forum and it is a pleasure to be part of the Yamaha community at last! I have wanted a Yamaha for a long time and I have finally come across a beautiful 1976 Yamaha DT400 which, after cleaning up the last owners messes in it, runs like a dream. .. after breaking my legs on the kick start. Once running, it putts along just fine. clean carb, new spark plug, fresh oil and gasoline, and cleaned the tank filter as well. Lights all work. Just need a new relay for the hazards. But the true issue right now is kicking her over. It takes an awful lot of kicking to get her started and I'm in a bit of confusion over it. Is there some…

Hi Guys Firstly, hello and i'm here to stay! I've acquired a Yamaha XT125 X for my first bike, and cant wait to ride it after i take my CBT on Sunday. I was just wondering how you remove the seat to gain access to the battery, i need to disconnect it as my speedo is set to Enduro mode but mine is the motard version and i hear that there are issues with the speedo being out by as much as 10-15mph because its on the wrong setting! I don't want to go through a speed camera at what i think is 30 according to the speedo and be going 40! Much appreciated Duke
