1998 dt125r ok, firstly most important, my damn rear indicators aaaah!!! i had a broken cracked taped up left hand switch gear, with, everything apart from indicators worked with it, i.e both rears would come on and one front one lol, so, i forked out £80, yes £80!!! for a new l/h switch gear, and...suprise, the problem still persists, im thinking, dodgy wiring, but now i fitted new switch, everything workes i.e lights , horn, but, only both back inidcators now, no front ones atall, so if anyones knows of any ideas? great much appreciated, also, looking for a good looking tail tidy for it? any websites/shops you can reccomend, and one final thing, orange fork gaiters…

I just finished my second restoration on a 1974 DT360 and got it sold on ebay. If you want to see it - http://cgi.ebay.com/...e=STRK:MESOX:IT I am starting a refurbishment on a 1970 RT1 and just got it fired up for the first time today. I'm pretty sure it has a non-stock carb and intake on it. The mikuni carb has a 35.2mm slide with a big bell inlet that doesn't fit the stock air tube going to the airbox. I went ahead and removed the carb and intake on it and found it does have a reed valve intake block. It also has an intake block with a spigot mount 1.57ID (40mm) I am fairly sure the stock VM32SH had to be a flange mount. I have a book that says t…

Hi All, My DTR has sudden developed an electrical fault. Usually, when you turn the key, the neutral light will come on, and youll hear the power valve reset. Only now, no light, and no movement from the valve. The first sign of trouble i had was after starting the bike normally, then as i rode home, the indicators did not work, although my front/rear and brake lights were still working. Nearer home, the indicators started working fine. When i got in, i decided to check it out, and noticed that when i turned the ignition on, the neutral light either flickered or comes on after a delay, like there was a bad connection. This cause the relay under the rear mudguard to f…

Hi everyone,i hope someone can shed some light for me on this subject.I recently purchased a 175mx which has been used as a field bike. Its in a very sorry state but i would like to rebuild it and put it back on the road where it belongs.Unfortunately as usual with field bikes, there is no paper work what so ever,i only have bill of sale and frame numbers.I spoke to dvla and they told me to contact owners club. Can anyone tell me the procedure of finding out the reg number or year, and how to go about registering it.Many thanks guys

Hi,I am after some advice,The XT 660 z is a tall old beast, and ive currently got a problem with the cartiledge in my left knee, does anyone know if the sidestand would be strong enough to actualy climb on the bike from, as opposed to trying to get on to it from the ground. appologies for a daft question but its proving a prob climbing aboard as it is, for me. i wonder because on my old XT600 the sidestand actually sheared off up near the weld at the top pivot point, never used to use the stand to climb aboard on that, as it was a fair bit lower, not sure why it broke, had it welded at the time and the guy said the metal at that point was way to thin so maybe was a defect…

Hi. I am getting my 1976 DT 175 back on the road. All is well (believe it or not) except for: 1. Flasher relay - the thing lights up the flashers but will not flash (on and off) - even when revved. Any one know where I can get a replacement? It has three connections; brown, white & brown and black. 2. Petrol tap inner filter if fcuked - replacement needed. 3. (The big one) the petrol tank needs repair - best options? (other than a replacement tank which are as rare as rocking horse shot). If anyone can help, be much appreciated. If I can get these sorted I may even put it up for sale. Thanks. Pkay

Hi i have a 1985 XT350 , my engine had a knocking sound , so checked valve clearances. They were in the specified settings. I then pulled the camchain tensioner out, this was working fine. My search moved to the clutch basket , as i recently replaced the plates/corks, and springs. I noticed that the clutch basket had allot of free play on the basket. Yesterday i removed the basket , and i found the main shaft has 2 mm play (as you pull it towards you) a small amount of up and down play. Also the cog on the left to the main shaft that engages the kick start mechanism is very worn , like it needs a washer to space it out? I suspect a w…
