hey guys, I have an old DT250 that i just got running smoothly today, runs good, starts on the first/second kick, it has been sitting for 20 years..I put about 4-5 ounces of oil into the gas tank just to make sure its lubing, good news is the auto-lube works. But it smokes like crazy, is this just because of the oil in the gas tank or is it just from sitting 20 years and needs to burn off all the crap? I was thinking the mix is set to high on the auto-lube system? any ideas?

i have a feeling mine is when i have 5 litres left but never too sure this has became a problem as im trying to find out how many mpg i have done.... and I'm rather confused now as if i go on my theory that its at 5 litres left i have managed to do over 120mpg which i find hard to belive really :S

I am justwoundering what supermoto wheels will fit my yamaha xt 125 ? And does anyone know of any performance parts that will fit the bike? thanks

hi folks.recently brougt a tt600 non starter.seller told me that whilst on tickover it jumped into gear and stalled.could anyone point me in the right direction please,is there anyone in the west midlands who could have a look?

Members, I have a 1978 DT400E which I am in the process of rebuilding. I would like to put disc brakes on the front end. Just wondering if any of you have done this??? I was wondering if the new TTR forks and wheel would fit??? Thanks, Rick

Hiya everyone I'm in desperate need of two new rear panels and a rear fender but I'm completely hopeless at finding them. I have better luck fiding parts for a DT which is 30 years old rather than my actual 05 model lol!! I tried spraying my plastics myself but i haven't got a large dust free space so they got covered in dust while drying Would any of you people be kind enough to help me out and send me some links or phone numbers? Hey guys, Ive been riding my XT350 for about a month now. Has run perfectly fine until the last 3 days. Ill start the bike right up on 2nd or 3rd kick. Idles fine, then I get on it and start to cruise and she only wants to run for about 5 mins. When I give it gas it hesitates like its running out of gas but the tank is completely full. Then it just stops, I have to let it sit for about 10 mins and then itll run again for about 30 seconds. It cant be overheating that fast because I was riding it for hours in 100 degree heat last week. I did run it through about 2 feet of water a couple days ago. Could this have done some damage? Any ideas?

I have a 1973 Yamaha 360 enduro (rt3). Every so often, when I start the bike, it runs backwards! I mean reverse, it will actually move backwards. Am I going crazy here? Anyone have any thoughts on my problem and how to correct it? thanx for any help

Just rebuilding a 81 DT175MX, and will be popping in some fresh pistons and rings. I see there are plenty of pattern piston kits on ebay, but does anyone know if there is more than one pattern piston brand? If so, any brands to go for, or avoid? I have only ever used pattern piston years ago when I raced proddy RD400's, and they rattled so much I reverted to OEM straight away. Cheers Lee

Folks- I'm new to this forum but it looks as though my problem may not be. I have a 1980 Yamaha DT 125 Enduro. I'm the second owner and it has about 5,000 original miles - garage kept (always) and not run for over 10 years. It cranks fine, but the problem is that the engine struggles at mid to high end of the power band and it smokes a bit (at high end). The jets are relatively new, and the gas tank has been cleaned and sealed. Air filter is clean. Muffler is ok, for 30 years old and very difficuly to find a replacemtn for - unless others haev ideas?? Perhaps a larger question is, what type of carb do I actually have? The Clymers manual suggests that it is a Type…

hi ive searhed internet to find some new plastics for my dtr 125 i think its 2002, not sure as th bike is stolen/recovered. carnt seem to find new plastics anywhere. has anyone got any ideas. could i put plastics on that r not 2002 modile? cheers chris

Hi guys, since the winter has come round my DTR doesnt like starting one bit. At first i thought the cold weather may be the problem, but now im starting to think there is a fault with it as i have lost quite a bit of compression. You can kick the bike over as many times as u want but nothing (sometimes u may be lucky n it will start). The bike will start if i bump it and will ride normally. It will also kick over once the bike is warm. Is it a seal??? if so which one??? Any advice or feedback is much appreciated many thanks Adam

Hi Finally managed to sort the electrics out on this bike, and am now ready to get some indictors. Anyone know what indicators belong on this model i.e. chrome? black? Also do the front indicators mount on the bars? Many thanks for any advice. Lee

Hello, I have a 1987 DT 125 LC III that I am just about finished rebuilding. I am getting a spark out of it however it is very weak. I checked the resistance of the Exciter (source) coil and pulser coil as instructed in the manual (haynes) and got a reading of 378 Ohms. The manual says that it should read 180 +/- 10% so between (162-198)ohms. The manual states that if the coil is suspect by this test to remove the stator plate from the machine and take the assembly to a Yamaha dealer for further inspection. Is it possible to test these coils myself? The DT coils can be renewed individually if I can find out which one is faulty, I just don't know how to do this. Or …

need some help in setting this up please. I've read the pinned toppic at the top and haynes and the official yamaha service book but i cant find the info on what position it should sit at when i put the servo housing etc back on. You have the middle section that has the curved bit missing but im a bit lost as to how the power valve works to understand the postion it should be in. The servo is fine as its goes as per all the videos ive seen but its the poervalve that im not sure about. cheers muppet
