    Howdy Folks. I thought I would stop by and say hello as a new rider. I took my CBT last week and picked my first bike. I started looking at a YBR125 to use as a local bob about machine but I ended up with a XT125R. What a cracking little bike it is. Riding it is like being on my mountain bike with an engine and even at 18 stone it pulls away fast enough to keep up with the traffic. I have only done 60 miles so far because I have been dying with man flue but I am looking forward to being able to get out after work next week and not spend hours sitting in a Transit van stuck in the city traffic.

    Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and to riding/owning. I've just bought a 1989 TT600 but am struggling to find content/mods/parts on the net but do have a Clymer manual which seems only to cover models up to 1986, hoping this will do!? Anyway any knowledge or advice much appreciated as I want to rebuild this bike and learn all about them in the process. Thanks and look forward to replies, David

    I was riding my bike and through the woods in 3rd gear when the bike started to bog down. realizing this i down shifted and slowed down to first gear speed. still acting funny the bike just shut off on my while still rolling. I tried kicking it to get it started again but after about 10 kicks the kick starter would not go down and it is jammed. Any ideas of what is wrong? thanks in advance ~jim

    i've got a 78 dt 175. i thought it was seased but i srayed wd-40 in the cylinder and i can kick it now. after about 20 kicks the kick starter won't go down. I believe the problem is the kick starter and not the engine. does anyone have a diagram of how to take apart a kickstarter? thanks jim sanders

    hi all i have a dt125x 07 can get 80mph 85 at a push but i never rely go past 50mph so i am going to change the sprockets front or back to get of the line farster and to pull the front up without reving the balls out of it . just need to now what's better front or back ? and how meny teeth to add or take off ? and where to get them from i have had a look on the web but no luck thanks your help will be very nice

    I bought my first bike couple days ago. I picked up a 01 Yamaha YZ125. I went to Berts and bought everything I needed for and I changed all the fluids and changed the plug. Bike starts first kick. Is this a good bike and anything else I should know? I know very little about it. I will try to post a pic Thanks

    Hello, I've fitted a CRD Absolute Power II exhaust followed by lowering the needle clip one notch and raising the main jet by ten points as per instructions from CRD however i just carried out a "plug chop" at 4,000 and found the electrode to be mostly covered in white so it appears to be running lean. Is there anything else i can do? Thanks Joe

    Hi, I have a dt125 fully converted to offroad use, Is it normal for the float valve in the carb to get stuck if I leave the fuel tap on overnight? everytime it gets stuck i have to take the bike apart and drain the carb out. also i have tryed starting my bike up with fuel tap turned off to drain it, this doesnt work. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution please reply thanks. regards, Wes

Please bear in mind that I am a 36 year old who has just dicovered a new hobby and that I am a complete novice!   11. Hi all, I'm trying to work out the best way to raise my dt125 through changing the suspension front and rear. Anybody done a jack up at the back? swapped the rear unit for another or bodged this some how? On the same note, any one changed the forks for more travel? which model did you take them from please? many thanks

    Hey again Yamahaclub Just checkin' in again.. I would like to know if the TDM850 would be a good bike for A2 license. My dad is either going to give me his old Z650 (Kawasaki) which is an awesome little cruiser.. not that I'd ever ride it on the road of anything .. Or the TDM850 from 1991. My thoughts are that as the TDM is a V-twin, it'll stop the 33Bhp restrictor from making it splutter as theres more low range power than the inline on the Z. Any thoughts? But i'm sure the Z would be cheaper on insurance as its a classic, and its a lower CC. Happy new year!

    Hello all first time posting here and as you will find out im just crossing over into the world of dirtbikes. i have an old 78' yamaha dt175, its in pretty good original shape, and is surprisingly fun to ride even being 30 years old. im looking for an aftermarket exhaust system (preferably something nice looking as well as beneficial) but cant seem to find anything for these models. does anyone know if such pipes are in existance and if so where can i get one? are there any other model's yamaha has made that would share the same pipe? also i was thnking about replacing the original mikuni carb with something that will flow a little beter than stock, being as its time for…

    Hi, I'm a newbie to this site and I have just recently bought a DT 125, 1982 registered. I have got 2 problems with it. The first is the headlights don't work. I have been working on it all yesterday and a bit today studying the wiring diagram to try to get the headlights to work. Question 1. Are they supposed to work off the battery or only when the engine is running as they won't do either! Any help here would be great. Also the engine won't run at higher revs and coughs and splutters, but starts, idles and low/medium revs ok, dropping the needle a notch and breathing unfiltered air helps a little. The main jet is a 140 and I think it should have a 130, carb is marked…

    Just got my bike MOT'd and on the way home (flat out down the duel carriageway) she feels like she’s about to seize, so quickly in with the clutch and coast to a stop !!! No ignition lights? Checked the main fuse and that’s blown, put the spare in, I now have ignition lights back, but when trying to kick the bike over there’s very little compression !!! Wait for the nice RAC man who has a quick look, we remove the spark plug and kick it over, he say’s there’s a spark but a week one.     allright guys, My XT350 keeps leaking petrol out the drain of the bottom of the primary carb, i cleaned the drain screw and blown out the seating with carb cleaner but it still won't stop! It also does it continually, even when the petrol is switched off (the tap does work correctly) Hows that then? Anyone got any bright ideas? (no comments about boxes of matches please!!) Thanks
