Hello Everybody There is a problem in my DT50 and I think it is quite serious because it is an oil problem that can cause damage if left untreated. I feel that the engine is pulling extra oil. The symptom started when one day I was repairing the indicator lights. I started the engine and left it for about 20 minutes while accelerating from time to time because the battery was dead. However, after a while, the engine stopped unexpectedly, making a suffocating sound. I thought that the engine suffocated from too much fuel and acceleration. Hi guys, I've recently bought a 2002 DT 125 traily its done around 18k and is in great condition having been garaged by the last owner since 2007. it seems to have developed a issue that doesn't always happen all the time, It starts very easily and takes revs well once warmed up and pulls cleanly all the way up through the power band but. every now and then it seems to just cut out like the spark plug cap is off (instant). no warning no funny sounds or anything just a drop off in power, only used the bike 3 times off road and its done it twice, both times after about an hour or so and it wont re start until the engine is cold again, tried both a standard and iridium pl…

Hi there, Im tom, i was a regular back in 2003/4 but soon got bored of biking, im here today hopefully for some advice, I have a 1976 land rover 109 pick up, which im selling for £550 as a resto project, I have just been offered to swap it for a motorcross bike, something im told is rare and bloody quick, a VOR EN530, its a 2003 model, had no more than 10 hours use since new, garaged since 2006) it does run and ride etc, is it worth the hassle, anyone know anything about these bikes, any info greatfully recieved tom

Hi, have not been on here for a while but still have my DT, nearly sold it recently though as was getting fed up with holing pistons!! Have gone up to 220 on the main jet but still holed a piston after overtaking a car at full revs. Now rebuilt but have gone back down to a 195 main as it was running rough and was better with this jet though still not right. Was passing a motor factors the other day and thought I would drop in and get a new spark plug as guessed that might be the problem. They didn't have a E8ES only a E6ES which the bloke said was cooler but should work only it might not last. After putting it in it now starts with just a half hearted push on the kick st…

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone had a good holiday! I have a 1979 Yamaha DT125 F and I am turning the bike into a cafe racer. To make it a cleaner look I want to take off the air box and put an air filter on the carbarator. My understanding is that I need to jet my carbs before doing this. How would I jet the carb specifically so I can have just an air filter instead of the air box? Any help on this would be greatly appricated! Cheers!

hey all from others experience is it the yamalube oil pumps that tick loudly at idle. it almost sounds like a cracked hydraulic lifter in a car? or is that bad rod bearings? I can post a video, but if others find the oil pumps noisy then I wont worry

So I recently bought my new YZ250F and I was wondering if it was normal for fuel to be leaking out of carb overflow after riding and with the fuel turned off, for example: After riding turning the bike off and the fuel off, loading onto trailer and driving home with fuel leaking out of overflow onto the trailer. Also I found it strange that when I turn off the fuel and lean the bike over fuel rushes out the overflow. I do understand that when the fuel is leaned over that the carb float cannot function properly filling the bowl and overflowing but I don't see why it would be happening if I had my fuel turned off in the first place.

I have taken cylinder and piston off to rebored but i have noticed my clutch has become very loose, is this due to the barrel being off and no compression? Or have I got issues with clutch as it was fine before I took the barrel off. Thanks [emoji2]

I have a Yamaha XT350 1997. Ive been trying to figure out the best way to stop the bike for a easier start next time. So if you just parked the bike and its still running, do you turn the fuel off to drain some of it to prevent flooding it easily next time? Does it matter if you dont turn off the fuel? Ive seen people mention that you need to rock the bike to move the piston to the very top for quicker starts. All in all I want to know if there is a recipe to make it easy, ot do you just need a stronger leg? Thanks in advance for the advice

Hi guys. I've got a 1988 dtr, missing a few bits and one of the bits that has been removed is the power valve servo and control unit. Basically the powervalve is pinned open. I know a guy selling a bike really cheap, a 1999/2000 model dtr. How much stuff off of his bike will fit mine?

hi there guys im wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what to do my bike has an annoying rattling noise which seems to be coming from the top end. it had a +1.0mm rebore just under a year ago by a previous owner and was fitted with a wossner piston, which has always slapped from cold. i have taken the head off and attempted to measure the bore and got 56.97mm as my biggest reading but im guessing it is 57mm, bore looks nice and clean. but i had no feeler gauges to hand at the time. bike starts first kick every time without fail and pulls well through all gears anyway back to the noise. on start up the piston slaps is the prominent noise from the engine, ho…

hey guys bought a 1990 yz80 right before winter thinking of it as a project over the winter and for $250 it was the right price. got it home cleaned the carb as i was told by the owner it had been sitting for about 2 months drained what little gas was in it removed the broken fuel petcock and replaced it with one i bought on ebay. got it all back together and it fired right up first kick let it warm up nicely and went to go it was really choppy in the midrange but once it hit the power band it ran great. but the problem is since then it wont kickstart but will roll start just did a compression test and it came out at 123 psi. have checked over all electrical connections a…

Hello, i have a question about the piston on the dt 125r, its a 1999 model and engine is marked 3MB00 it has a +1.25 piston in it and its worn out. I did search the web and could not find pistons of +1.25 anywhere except the expensive wössner and other, but i found a lot of pistons marked 3RME for dt 125r 1999 at a decent price, so what is the difference ?

Hi guys. New to the forum and two strokes. Bought my uncles 94 DT that's been sat in his garage for 15 years, it's in fantastic condition on the outside but mechanically it's a bit of an unknown. It was running perfect when garaged in 2001ish. Just wondering if you could give me a few pointers to look out for on them as I've never dealt with 2 strokes. Best oils? What goes wrong?
